Kazuda Xiono

  • Nominated by DFaceG (talk) 05:04, January 30, 2020 (UTC)
  • Nomination comments: After working on this page for a while, I've been double-checking repeatedly and I wholeheartedly believe it has met the standard of quality. All errors have been rectified, a large number of images have been added, and there are sufficient quotes. Formatting of the article has not been marked as erroneous, and it is 100% up to date with current canon information. I hope you'll consider it. If you have suggestions for how I could possibly improve or tweak the page, please let me know as well.

  • This is all from just giving it a quick look, it seems that it needs more quotes and images. For such a prominent character the amount of quotes and images is insufficient.
  • The article needs more work. Yes is up to date, but the amount of content in some sections isn't enough. See Qui-Gon Jinn or other FAs to see the amount of content that can be added to a section from a episode.
  • "Originally, the casting process called for an Asian American actor to play Kaz as they wanted to promote diversity, and the Japanese American" The source for this never mentions Star Wars or Kaz
    • This interview is the source for that statement. Must have been accidentally removed at some point. The other source is for CS's ethnicity. Toqgers (talk) 07:53, January 31, 2020 (UTC)
      • Updated with reference. DFaceG (talk) 15:12, January 31, 2020 (UTC)
  • "By 34 ABY, Xiono was serving as a T-85 X-wing pilot" the date needs explanation.
    • There was no direct evidence specifically mentioning his term as a New Republic pilot; sources have been redone with Shayanomer's help and now correlate to the correct events (Xiono's recruitment to the Resistance and the Mission to the Dassal system). DFaceG (talk) 19:18, January 31, 2020 (UTC)
    • It's been a while since I fixed this and I noticed the objection still isn't out. Is there something else wrong with it I need to fix? If so, please let me know! :) DFaceG (talk) 18:56, February 6, 2020 (UTC)
  • Per our Layout Guide images should alternate from the right-side to the left-side.
  • Needs an equipment section.--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 07:28, January 30, 2020 (UTC)
    • Equipment section has been added. DFaceG (talk) 07:39, January 31, 2020 (UTC)
UberSoldat
  • There are several links to redirects on the page, and a redlink in the references. If you haven't done it already, I suggest you go to your Preferences and select "Highlight all redirects orange."
    • Redlinked page has since been added, redirects are gone. DFaceG (talk) 07:39, January 31, 2020 (UTC)
  • Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary provides the time frame for when Poe recruited Kazuda, it would be good to add that to provide more context in the article. UberSoldat93 (talk) 07:31, January 30, 2020 (UTC)
    • The referencing still hasn't been done properly. There are several successfully nominated articles you can use to guide you in this matter. UberSoldat93 (talk) 16:02, January 30, 2020 (UTC)
      • As you've already updated one of the two references (his recruitment), I've gone ahead and updated the reference for the Mission to the Dassal system as well, utilizing your example as an aid. DFaceG (talk) 19:16, January 31, 2020 (UTC)
        • It's an improvement, but it still needs a little more work. You don't need to mention page numbers, just the book itself, and avoid duplicate links in references. UberSoldat93 (talk) 19:24, January 31, 2020 (UTC)
          • Page numbers and duplicate links have been excised. DFaceG (talk) 20:10, January 31, 2020 (UTC)
            • I meant duplicate links within the same reference. UberSoldat93 (talk) 20:15, January 31, 2020 (UTC)
              • I'm now confused; I don't recall there having been duplicate links within the same reference before, but just to be safe, I've gone through the Dassal date reference and double checked to make sure no links were duplicating themselves within the reference itself. DFaceG (talk) 21:36, January 31, 2020 (UTC)
                • No, what you've done is fine now. UberSoldat93 (talk) 02:04, February 1, 2020 (UTC)
Anil
  • The Equipment section can be expanded with Kaz's outfits, flight suits, etc.
    • Section has been updated to include the outfits/uniforms/armors, thanks much. DFaceG (talk) 02:58, February 1, 2020 (UTC)
  • The main character of an entire animated series should definitely have a long Behind the scenes section. I'm pretty sure there is a lot to add from StarWars.com articles, Star Wars Insider interviews, DVD bonus features, etc. TanDivoInsignia-SenateMurders Anıl Şerifoğlu (talk) 01:54, February 1, 2020 (UTC)
  • Please make sure that the pages for all the images used in the article meet the criterias listed in our image policy.
  • Also, all image files should be formatted in accordance with the Layout Guide. TanDivoInsignia-SenateMurders Anıl Şerifoğlu (talk) 15:51, February 1, 2020 (UTC)
    • All of the images I've uploaded to the page do adhere to the guidelines, but I'll double check those that I have not added. DFaceG (talk) 22:23, February 1, 2020 (UTC)
      • No, they don't. Almost all of them lack subject, licensing, and type categories.
      • If you downloaded them from StarWars.com, which you suggest in the upload information section, it should be specified in the Source field as well.
      • Some of the image extensions are in uppercase, which is not allowed per the image policy.
      • Per the Layout Guide, image caption punctuation (i.e., a full stop, or period) is determined by whether the caption uses a complete sentence.
      • When formatting file names, such as images, underscores should be used instead of space. "Xiono_Doza_Race.jpg" instead of "Xiono Doza Race.jpg," for example. TanDivoInsignia-SenateMurders Anıl Şerifoğlu (talk) 13:12, February 2, 2020 (UTC)
        • Underscores have often appeared as spaces in the file's page names after I added them as underscores. Even still, I'm looking at the Image Guidelines right now and it makes no explicit mention of spaces (aside from mentioning that they should not be before the filename). It does, however, mention that image names should be restricted to ASCII characters; the "space" character adheres to this guideline, as the space is ASCII character 32. DFaceG (talk) 00:30, February 11, 2020 (UTC)
  • Besides the lack of Sources, as CP said below, the article also lacks multiple Appearances. Star Wars Resistance: Meet the Pilots, Animation-Magazine comic strips, and Star Wars Resistance Racer are only few of them. And they probably include new stories, which should be added to the History section. TanDivoInsignia-SenateMurders Anıl Şerifoğlu (talk) 13:12, February 2, 2020 (UTC)
    • Meet the Pilots is a young-readers adaptation of "The Recruit" (Season 1 episode 1), but I'll be sure to check the others, as well as look for more. DFaceG (talk) 18:11, February 6, 2020 (UTC)
      • Film/TV adaptations also need to be checked. They often feature alternate or deleted scenes, and may have new information. TanDivoInsignia-SenateMurders Anıl Şerifoğlu (talk) 19:32, February 6, 2020 (UTC)
        • I did check it. Sorry not being as clear on that. DFaceG (talk) 19:57, February 6, 2020 (UTC)
The CP

Hello DFAceG, cool to see you tackling this. But it looks like you are missing a whole host of sources—all the Episode Guides that Kaz appears in also need checked. And there is bound to be source information in Star Wars Resistance Animation-Magazine. I would help with that, but Panini only delivers to Europe. Maybe you can ask one of our German users if they have a copy? Corellian PremierJedi symbolThe Force will be with you always 19:16, February 1, 2020 (UTC)

    • I was unaware that certain resources were required to be added - this is definitely news to me and no one else has said anything about it. I know new sources can be added and I'll definitely be doing so to expand on certain topics, but there's no way that every Resistance-related source out there has entirely new information that they bring to the table. DFaceG (talk) 22:23, February 1, 2020 (UTC)
      • Because you want this to be a featured article, you need to check all the sources, just because they may have new information.--Editoronthewiki (talk) 16:17, February 3, 2020 (UTC)

  • The first three paragraphs only feature season one info. It definitely needs to be updated to have season two info. --Editoronthewiki (talk) 16:17, February 3, 2020 (UTC)
    • Introduction has been updated to reflect both seasons of Resistance. DFaceG (talk) 15:34, February 5, 2020 (UTC)
      • Doza had already joined the resistance by the final battle, so that part of the intro needs to be edited. Also, if memory serves, I don’t think Kaz alone inspired the citizens to fight back, so that may need to be changed. Wasn’t it his previous actions that inspired them? Or was it just them refusing the first order?--Editoronthewiki (talk) 19:39, February 5, 2020 (UTC)
        • In the episode, the entirety of the Colossus' citizens (aside from the Dozas) were entirely unwilling to help Kaz, Yeager, and Tam take out Pyre and Tierny. After Kaz and Tam called telling them to run and save themselves, they had a change of heart and decided to help. You're entirely correct on Doza though, I'll fix that. I'll also fix the inspiration part to mention Tam. DFaceG (talk) 18:09, February 6, 2020 (UTC)
  • Rebuilding the Resistance gave info about Kaz's time in academy. That needs to be added to the early life section. If memory serves, I also feel like the last paragraph in the Rescuing the Resistance recruits section can be more than a sentence.--Editoronthewiki (talk) 21:14, February 6, 2020 (UTC)
  • The “BB-8's goose chase“ section claims to be post-Signal from Sector Six, but I’m not aware of any source that confirms that.--Editoronthewiki (talk) 22:23, February 6, 2020 (UTC)
    • Issue has been rectified. DFaceG (talk) 00:28, February 11, 2020 (UTC)
  • I’d argue all the shorts should be put under a subsection entitled “Life on the Colossus” or something, as they really aren’t long enough to all have their own section.--Editoronthewiki (talk) 22:23, February 6, 2020 (UTC)
    • Suggestion noted and done on the page. DFaceG (talk) 00:28, February 11, 2020 (UTC)

  • In response to Ruiz' objection, I'll see about getting to work on fixing all this. It might take a while but I want to make sure this page is up to standards as much as possible. DFaceG (talk) 07:33, January 30, 2020 (UTC)
    • Again to Ruiz: The equipment section of the article has been added.
  • In response to Shayanomer's objection, I've gone ahead and added the Visual Dictionary as a source to clarify (should help with Ruiz' request regarding this too, though I still plan to elaborate further). Regarding the redirects, I've checked in both Visual and Source editor but I've seen no links highlighted in orange per the widget you've sent me. Can you possibly help clarify somehow? DFaceG (talk) 07:47, January 30, 2020 (UTC)
    • Mentioning 34 ABY by itself does not work as the book does not use the "BBY/ABY" calendar. You need to explain how you convert from the "ASI/BSI" calendar to the older one in the ref. Also, the book gives a similar time frame for the mission on Castilon, which should be added as well. UberSoldat93 (talk) 07:55, January 30, 2020 (UTC)
      • The reference has been further elaborated on according to the guidelines you provided. Has also been connected to the Mission on Castilon. DFaceG (talk) 15:11, January 30, 2020 (UTC)
        • See the objection above. UberSoldat93 (talk) 16:02, January 30, 2020 (UTC)
          • I've made another attempt at rectifying the references. I've managed to get a hold of a copy of the Visual Dictionary, and I've scoured it for as many references regarding Kaz and the time period of his mission, and I believe I've pinpointed it. I've updated specifically the "Joining the Resistance" and "Investigating the Dassal system" sections of the article. DFaceG (talk) 04:16, January 31, 2020 (UTC)
  • I might look like a jerk for suggesting this, but, given that there is so much more to add to this article, I recommend that you request the nomiantaiom be taken down and then add info from the remaining sources. This also allows other people to make edits to the page during that time, as we would tend to only have you make major edits to this page during nomation. This nomination page will be archived so you can follow everyone’s requests without it needing to be an active nomination. Then, in a few days or weeks or however long some of the obscure sources take to put in, you can suggest it to be featured again. Just an idea.--Editoronthewiki (talk) 02:52, February 3, 2020 (UTC)
