Darth Glovoc

  • Nominated by: Xicer9Atgar(Combadge) 08:13, October 9, 2010 (UTC)
  • Nomination comments: Cull wrote most of this article several months ago, but he's been gone since so I decided to adopt it and polish it up. Oh, and I suppose it's a guest nom for WP:KOTOR (maybe WP:LE too).

Object

Because we true Sith do not abandon that to which we have sworn…
  • I would give a smidge of context on Houses Reena and Mecetti upon first mention.
    • Added.
  • The P&T is "however"-laden.
    • Un-"however"ed.
  • That's all. Good job, just remember to use past-tense as often as possible.—Tommy 9281 21:25, October 20, 2010 (UTC)
    • Will do. Thanks for the review. Xicer9Atgar(Combadge) 21:37, October 20, 2010 (UTC)
Toprawa
  • Any reason no article is provided for this captain character? Or at least a redlink for this article's purposes: "Glovoc was informed by his captain that they had arrived"
    • Redlinked. I'll create the article shortly.
  • Within the final bio paragraph, you refer to Krayt first as, in relation to Vurik, "his Master," and then as "his master." I pipelinked "Sith Master" into the first instance, assuming that was correct, but the second lower-case mention confused me. Please use whichever form is correct for both instances.
    • "Master" is lowercase in the source, and that's how I left it in the article, although I think Tommy capitalized the first instance in his copyedit. I've removed the link and made it lowercase again since it isn't clear whether Krayt is his Master.
  • This sentence reads rather like a run-on to me. Can we tweak this at all? "He had a short temper and absolute faith in his visions, and he immediately executed those who contradicted his interpretation of the Nyriaan vision, and could subject a being to a slow death if sufficiently enraged."
    • Tweaked.
  • I really don't care about Sithy stuff enough to debate this, but after reading the first BTS paragraph, your explanation of the possible dating reconciliation between 3,957-3,956 BBY makes enough sense to me that you could probably just mention the year in the bio anyway. It seems like there's an inconsistency there, but as you point out yourself, there could just as easily not be any inconsistency there. More of a suggestion than an objection. Toprawa and Ralltiir 21:20, October 22, 2010 (UTC)
    • This was left over from Cull's writeup of the article, and reading it again it does seem to make sense. I put the 3,957 BBY date in the bio, but I think it's still useful to address the possible discrepancy in the bts, so I've left that part of the paragraph there. Xicer9Atgar(Combadge) 21:51, October 22, 2010 (UTC)
      • I agree it's still useful. Good deal. Toprawa and Ralltiir 21:56, October 22, 2010 (UTC)
Green Tentacle
  • Into the future: Can we get a little bit of context on Revan? "…including Sith holocrons from the time of Malak's former master, Darth Revan…" or something similar would work. Green Tentacle (Talk) 14:01, October 30, 2010 (UTC)
    • Done, and thanks for the review. Xicer9Atgar(Combadge) 16:04, October 30, 2010 (UTC)
Eyrezer
  • My only comment: Did you consider useg {{RPGseed}} to include the events of Glovoc's awakening? --Eyrezer 02:12, October 31, 2010 (UTC)
    • Hm, didn't know we had that template. Still, the book is just basically saying "if he wakes up, he'll probably end up doing this this." It's not an adventure seed—it's vaguely giving the reader an idea of how Glovoc would react if the GM chose to wake him during a campaign. It's not something I would feel comfortable putting in the body, since it's really just something the author decided to mention offhand in one sentence. Xicer9Atgar(Combadge) 02:39, October 31, 2010 (UTC)
      • Works for me. I created the template to cover situations where we don't know if the seed happens, etc, and wasn't sure how much info the source gave on Glovoc. I'm happy to trust your judgment on this one. --Eyrezer 03:14, October 31, 2010 (UTC)
