Unidentified Twi'lek (Korriban space station)

  • Nominated by: —Axinal Convocation Chamber 19:04, June 7, 2011 (UTC)
  • Nomination comments: Guest nom for WP:TOR, I guess. That Twi'lek that everyone—not just the smuggler—ogled in Return.

    • I'd say the uniform was black and gray.
      • Changed.
    • Shouldn't it be "a Republic corporal"? Imperators II(Talk) 20:06, June 7, 2011 (UTC)
      • Yes, I suppose so. Changed.
      • By the way, I de-linked black, since the rules allow to link the article simply to color once rather than every specific color. Thanks for the copy-edit and the review, Imperators!—Axinal Convocation Chamber 20:13, June 7, 2011 (UTC)
        • Whoops, didn't notice "green" was linked to color instead of green. :D Imperators II(Talk) 20:19, June 7, 2011 (UTC)

    • This character has the exact same model as Eleena Daru, down to the outfit and the headdress. The only difference is that the lighting is not consistent between the render/display and Return's space station environment. Compared to other, in-environment shots of Daru, the twi'lek is nearly indistinguishable. If this argument doesn't completely void the need for this article, then the re-use of a model should, at the very least, be mentioned in the Bts. SinisterSamurai 00:04, June 8, 2011 (UTC)
      • I do not see this as Eleena Daru. The outfit, as you mentioned, is the same, something I never would have noticed. However, this Twi'lek very clearly has green skin, and I don't think that's simply a lighting issue. It also doesn't quite fit canonically, with Daru being a close ally to the Sith, but considering the amount of time that passes between Return and Deceived, that's probably not a wholly valid argument. Still, I think the skin color is at least enough to say that this is not Daru, but I can agree with at least putting something like that in the BTS.
        • Struck because of below conflict. SinisterSamurai 02:37, June 8, 2011 (UTC)
    • If we are ignoring ducktest policy and determining that this is not Eleena Daru, then we know nothing about this character. She could be a waitress. The smuggler's off-color humor about inspecting troops is not enough to identify the position or affiliation this twi'lek had. SinisterSamurai 00:04, June 8, 2011 (UTC)
      • I think that's fair to say. I'll move the article to Unidentified Twi'lek (Korriban space station).
    • The republic trooper who did the chastising has an existing article: Unidentified Havoc Squad commander, and this article should link there. SinisterSamurai 00:04, June 8, 2011 (UTC)
      • Are we sure that this is the same person? There are two troopers present. Can we say with confirmation that the corporal and the Havoc Squad commander are the same individual? Thanks for the review!—Axinal Convocation Chamber 01:48, June 8, 2011 (UTC)
        • In Return, both troopers are different. One has a big black triangle on his chest, and the other (the speaker), has a knife strapped. The speaker's armor is identical to the Hope trooper. They knife Trooper and the Hope trooper also have the same voice actor. And, when knife trooper removes his helmet after the explosion, we see he shares the same face model as Hope Trooper. SinisterSamurai 02:37, June 8, 2011 (UTC)
          • Good catch. I was pretty confident that the commander was the other guy, just based on positioning and such, but your evidence is sound.—Axinal Convocation Chamber 02:40, June 8, 2011 (UTC)

    • I normally don't review on the CAN, but this caught my eye: "The model for Eleena Daru, who appeared in The Old Republic's first trailer, Deceived, appears to be reused for this Twi'lek, whose uniform and headdress are nearly identical to Daru's. However, Daru is a Rutian Twi'lek with blue skin,[3] and the two have not been confirmed to be the same individual." Unless it's confirmed to be the same character, this statement is speculation, which has no place within the article. JangFett (Talk) 02:10, June 8, 2011 (UTC)
      • Classic case of two reviewers wanting two different things :P No slight to either of you, as you both make valid points here. Jang, since I concur that this is speculation, I will remove it. Thank you for your review.—Axinal Convocation Chamber 02:28, June 8, 2011 (UTC)
        • Personally, I would have worded it less speculatively. There's a fine line between speculation and observation. SinisterSamurai 02:37, June 8, 2011 (UTC)
          • I agree there's a fine line, and honestly, there seems to be some inconsistency as to when an observation like that is considered speculation and when it's not—take, for example, the second paragraph of the BTS in Tynnan, which is a featured article. I'd be more than willing to put that in, less speculatively, if an EC thinks it belongs.—Axinal Convocation Chamber 02:54, June 8, 2011 (UTC)

    • Didn't the Sith attack happen right after the oogling? The article currently presents these two events as rather separate, try tie them together. (: –Tm_T (Talk) 08:38, June 8, 2011 (UTC)
      • Heh, how's that? Thanks for the review!—Axinal Convocation Chamber 11:47, June 8, 2011 (UTC)

    • "...the smuggler admired her form..." This is obviously what is intended, but can we say it without it being speculative? Could he have been admiring her outfit? Could he have known her from somewhere and was just trying to figure out where? You get what I'm saying, I think... ~SavageBOB sig 22:25, June 12, 2011 (UTC)
      • Meh, I don't think it's being speculative...but I suppose I could change the wording around a bit. How's "leered at her"? Thanks for the review!—Axinal Convocation Chamber 23:07, June 13, 2011 (UTC)
        • I'm still a bit uncomfortable with "leered," as it implies lascivious intent, but I won't hold the nom up longer. :) ~SavageBOB sig 17:25, June 14, 2011 (UTC)
          • Thanks, Bob. :) If there is something you have in mind specifically, feel free to change the article or post it here or on my talk page.—Axinal Convocation Chamber 20:53, June 14, 2011 (UTC)
