Unidentified Republic soldier (Taris)

  • Nominated by: Fan26 (Talk) 15:13, January 25, 2019 (UTC)
  • Nomination comments:First one in a while, first in a group of three. There's a literal army's worth of background TOR characters with dialogue like this one.

  • Bolded titles should not have links within them per the Manual of Style. This is also the case for your Unidentified Twi'lek doctor (Taris) nomination.
    • Fixed. Fan26 (Talk) 18:43, January 25, 2019 (UTC)
  • I don't think the date for Acts II and III are relevant to this article. Again, it's also the case for the other two CAnoms.
    • Yeah, they're not. The ref uses the template {{TOR dates}}, a general date confirmation template that displays "{{TOR dates}}". Is that really something that needs to be revised and removed? Fan26 (Talk) 18:43, January 25, 2019 (UTC)
      • I hadn't noticed that was a template. TanDivoInsignia-SenateMurders Anıl Şerifoğlu (talk) 18:47, January 25, 2019 (UTC)
  • Is there an audiofile available for the quote? TanDivoInsignia-SenateMurders Anıl Şerifoğlu (talk) 18:33, January 25, 2019 (UTC)
    • Audio file creation isn't my specialty, but I'll try and record the conversation. Fan26 (Talk) 18:43, January 25, 2019 (UTC)
      • I'll take care of it ;) TanDivoInsignia-SenateMurders Anıl Şerifoğlu (talk) 18:47, January 25, 2019 (UTC)
        • Thanks a million. Fan26 (Talk) 18:50, January 25, 2019 (UTC)

  • Can you expand ref 1 a bit? Something like "Taris - location name - ambient dialogue" QuiGonJinn Senate seal(Talk) 12:25, January 29, 2019 (UTC)
    • Playing around with TORcite managed to get me this. Checked with the template page and it seems there's no option that would work better-is this satisfactory? Fan26 (Talk) 13:58, January 29, 2019 (UTC)

  • Developer and specific genre for TOR, please. Imperators II(Talk) 18:50, January 30, 2019 (UTC)
    • Done. Fan26 (Talk) 16:27, January 31, 2019 (UTC)
  • Context for rakghoul. Imperators II(Talk) 18:50, January 30, 2019 (UTC)
    • Is this enough? I'm hesitant to add the Murr talisman and other unrelated background in. Fan26 (Talk) 16:27, January 31, 2019 (UTC)
      • You should specify individual comic issue(s). Imperators II(Talk) 16:48, February 2, 2019 (UTC)
        • I'll try and see which Vector comic explained that. Fan26 (Talk) 16:58, February 2, 2019 (UTC)
          • Cannot seem to find which issue first explained that, annoyingly. Fan26 (Talk) 17:33, February 2, 2019 (UTC)
            • Finally found it. Fan26 (Talk) 03:33, February 3, 2019 (UTC)
      • Also, doesn't TOR itself provide that same info? Like maybe through a Codex entry or something? Imperators II(Talk) 16:48, February 2, 2019 (UTC)
        • Nope, strangely. All of the rakghoul-related codexes (codexi?) make vague references to the failed experiment of a sith lord as a possible explanation for the existence of rakghouls, but it's nothing concrete and is only offered as a potential explanation along with theories like the result of toxins from Tarisan factories or failed medical experiments. Fan26 (Talk) 16:58, February 2, 2019 (UTC)
  • The dating needs slightly more work. {{TOR dates}} uses the rather strict wording "in 3643 BBY," while your own addition to the ref note has "by that year," which is not necessarily the same thing. Imperators II(Talk) 18:50, January 30, 2019 (UTC)
    • I'm not quite sure what you mean here-are you asking me to elaborate on why it can be assumed that the death had occurred by 3643 BBY? Fan26 (Talk) 16:27, January 31, 2019 (UTC)
      • No, I'm nitpicking on the specific wording used related to the date. "By 3643 BBY" does not preclude the said events from happening in, say, 3644 BBY or 3642 BBY, whereas "in 3643 BBY" does. Imperators II(Talk) 16:48, February 2, 2019 (UTC)
        • This work? Fan26 (Talk) 17:25, February 2, 2019 (UTC)
  • Also, I'd recommend moving the specific date to when you begin talking about Jessop's rakghoul incident. In the opening sentence(s) of the article you can just do with the mention of the Cold War. Imperators II(Talk) 18:50, January 30, 2019 (UTC)
    • Done. Fan26 (Talk) 16:27, January 31, 2019 (UTC)
  • In connection to the previous objection, I think you should move the mention of the rakghoul incident from the first paragraph to the second one, so that you're providing a general overview of the subject's nature and background in the former and the specific history in the latter. Imperators II(Talk) 18:50, January 30, 2019 (UTC)
    • Done. Fan26 (Talk) 16:27, January 31, 2019 (UTC)
  • Reviewing note: Please note item 5 here. Imperators II(Talk) 18:50, January 30, 2019 (UTC)
    • Thanks, will keep that in mind. Fan26 (Talk) 16:27, January 31, 2019 (UTC)
