- So say it's a type of bird. Type is not synonymous with species, which is a specific taxonomic rank. Hawks are a type of bird, but not a species of bird, they're classified as a family. I realize this is something we're often lax on, even in our category names, but we should certainly avoid it's use in body unless specified. Ayrehead02 (talk) 14:00, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
