Willux was a human who lived in Mos Espa on the planet Tatooine. He raised his daughter Jess there, telling her stories about people who could do impossible things consistent with the abilities of Jedi. He encouraged his daughter's musical talent, putting together makeshift instruments for her from broken droid and engine parts. By 4 ABY, Willux was sick and dying, and Jess had become a servant of Jabba Desilijic Tiure in order to pay off Willux's gambling debts.[1]
Jess' boyfriend Altair Wyeto, who had left Tatooine for the swoop circuits, returned and attempted to pay off Willux's debts to rescue Jess, but Jabba claimed the money he offered was not enough. Willux asked Wyeto to free Jess from Jabba's palace anyway, even though he was too sick to travel and would risk the Hutt Cartel coming after him. Jess refused to go with Wyeto, saying that even if they all escaped Tatooine, they would always be hunted.[1]
Wyeto stayed with Willux in Mos Espa, but was away when Willux died in his sleep. His neighbor Imj sent a message to Jess informing her of her father's death.[1]
