Han Solo participated in a swoop race on Rion.
Swoop racing was a sport in which competitors would race swoops against one another.[1] Shortly after the Battle of Yavin that occurred in 0 ABY,[2] the smuggler Han Solo participated in a swoop race on the planet Rion in an attempt to win funds for the Alliance to Restore the Republic. Several other participants in the race attempted to knock him from his vehicle so that they could claim a bounty on his head, but Solo ultimately emerged victorious.[1]
At some point in his youth on Corellia in by 13 BBY[3], Han raced against Dengar in a swoop race in the Crescent City in the Industrial sector. As a result of the loss, Dengar held a grudge against him years later and vowed not to tolerate being disrespected ever again.[4]
