- "Not bad, mister. You should play wicket ball with an arm like that."
"You like wicket ball? Maybe we could have a game, you and your pals against us old-timers at the Temple. What d'you say?" - ―Flim and Tey Sirrek
Wicket ball was a ball sport played during the High Republic Era. While in the Holy City of the Mid Rim moon Jedha around 387 BBY, the Cragmoloid child Flim threw a piece of food at the Guardian of the Whills Tey Sirrek, which Sirrek caught and threw at Flim's scout droid SK-0T. Afterward, while Flim was being chased by the Guardian, the Cragmoloid told Sirrek that he should play wicket ball with an arm like his, with the Guardian propositioning that the child and their friends play a game of the sport against the Guardians.
While the scientist Avon Starros lived on the Core Worlds planet Coruscant, wicket ball was one thing that she enjoyed about the world. In 232 BBY, after she had been sent away from Coruscant by her mother—the Galactic Republic senator Ghirra Starros—Avon mentally noted her desire to return to the planet and wicket ball.
Description
Wicket ball was a ball sport that involved the use of an individual's arm.[1]
History
Around 387 BBY,[3] during the High Republic Era, as the Cragmoloid child Flim begged for zukkels in the Holy City of[2] the Mid Rim moon[4] Jedha, they were confronted by the Guardian of the Whills Tey Sirrek. Flim then threw a piece of food at Sirrek, who caught it and threw it at the Cragmoloid's[2] scout droid SK-0T.[5] As Sirrek chased Flim as the Cragmoloid attempted to make a get away, Flim praised the Guardian's action, and told him that he should play wicket ball with an arm like his. In response, Sirrek asked the child if they liked the sport, and then suggested that Flim and their friends should play a game of wicket ball against the Guardians. The two were then stopped by the criminal Anst Wozo, who took Flim away.[2]
Wicket ball was one thing that Avon Starros (pictured) considered amazing about Coruscant.
By 232 BBY,[6] the sport was played on[1] the Core Worlds planet[4] Coruscant, which the scientist Avon Starros considered one of the things that made Coruscant "amazing" when she lived there. While stationed in the outpost Port Haileap on the Outer Rim planet Haileap—having been exiled there by her mother, the Galactic Republic senator Ghirra Starros—Avon spent time with the Jedi Padawan Imri Cantaros, which increased her curiosity about kyber crystals which powered the Jedi Order's lightsabers.[1] That year,[3] the scientist mentally noted that she intended to be the first to analyze kyber crystals and their properties so she could enroll at the Coruscant University and return home to things like wicket ball.[1]
