Wayne Humfleet (born July 12) is an American author. For Star Wars, he authored the short stories "Swoop Gangs" and "Lumrunner" with John Beyer, which were published in the sixth and ninth issues of Star Wars Adventure Journal in 1995 and 1996, respectively. He also contributed to the 1995 West End Games roleplaying sourcebook Heroes & Rogues.
Biography
Wayne Humfleet is an American[3] author[4] who was born on July 12.[1] He[2] is a lifelong Star Wars fan, and his gaming group—the Rabid Mynocks—remains active players of West End Games' D6 System as of 2024.[4]
Humfleet's first Star Wars work was "Swoop Gangs," a short story authored by himself and John Beyer that was published in the sixth issue of the Star Wars Adventure Journal magazine in May 1995. "Swoop Gangs" introduced the in-universe swoop gang Rabid Mynocks,[5] which shares its name with Humfleet's real-world gaming group. He also contributed to Heroes & Rogues,[4] a supplement book released by for use with West End Games Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game[6] on December 11, 1995,[7] though was not credited in the title.[8] Humfleet later co-authored the short story "Lumrunners" with Beyer, which was published in the ninth issue of Star Wars Adventure Journal and released in February 1996.[9] At some point, he adopted the name "Lumrunner" for some of his social media handles.[10][11]
In 2024, Humfleet collaborated with other Star Wars authors such as Bill Smith, Peter M. Schweighofer, Timothy S. O'Brien, Drew Campbell, and Michael Kogge, having been brought to a project together by former West End Games Creative Director Eric S. Trautmann.[12]
