A Warrant Officer was an officer in the Imperial Navy of the Galactic Empire. A warrant officer called forth Ensign Eli Vanto and Commander Thrawn for a promotion ceremony hosted by Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin and a female admiral on Coruscant prior to 2 BBY.[1] Adjutant Ardwyl Hercho also served as a warrant officer within the Galactic Empire.[4]
Behind the scenes
The military rank of warrant officer first appeared in the Thrawn novel.[1] Although Ardwyl Hercho is identified as a warrant officer,[4] Hercho wore the rank insignia plaque of a major within the Stormtrooper Corps according to the production sheet of rank insignia plaques created by Glyn Dillon.
