- "Voord. Voord, Voord, Voord."
- ―Cultists of the Sith Eternal speak Voord's name
Darth Voord was a Sith Lord who featured in the story "The Legend of the Noble Bonbrak". Described as "terrifying", Voord was said to have taken great pleasure in using his destructive heat ray to boil oceans. In "The Legend of the Noble Bonbrak," the story's hero was at one point at the mercy of Darth Voord, which would cause the audience of the story to like the story more.[1]
Centuries after the story's publication, Voord's name was used as part of a prayer by cultists of the Sith Eternal as they searched the catacombs beneath the Sith Citadel on the planet Exegol[2] in 3 ABY.[3] A leader of each cultist group would lead the others in chanting the name, along with the names of other Sith Lords.[2]
Behind the scenes
- "Probably a little melodramatic if I'm honest, but the children loved it, and most of the adults, especially when our hapless hero found himself at the mercy of Darth Voord, a terrifying Sith who just loved boiling oceans with his devastating heat ray."
- ―Oliviah Zeveron to Matthea Cathley
Darth Voord was mentioned in the 2022 novel Shadow of the Sith, which was written by Adam Christopher.[2] The name is a reference to the science fiction franchise Doctor Who,[4] in which the Voord are a hostile alien species.[5]
