A vibrobayonet was an advanced version of the bayonet. It consisted of a vibroblade that attached to the barrel of a blaster rifle or other rifle, thus turning into a powerful melee weapon. A vibrobayonet detached from a rifle could be used as a vibrodagger.[1]
Users
Many elite commando units routinely carried blaster rifles paired with a vibrobayonet,[3] such as New Republic commandos.[2] The Mandalorian Supercommandoes carried a light repeating blaster with a vibrobayonet attachment,[3] and the Taloron Hunters routinely carried a blaster carbine with a vibrobayonet.[4] Other known users of vibrobayonets included Trandoshan mercenaries,[5] and the Rebel Alliance guerrilla fighter Biv Bodhrik.[6] Vibrobayonets were often used as back-up weapons.[2]
