Versimillipedes[3] were a type of quadrupedal, brown-skinned species on Jedha,[2] Kenari,[4] and Khofar.[5] In 1 BBY,[6] a versimillipede climbed a rock face near to the Catacombs of Cadera, shortly before the area was decimated by the Death Star superweapon.[2]

A versimillipede first appeared in the 2016 Anthology series film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.[2] The species was named by Lucasfilm Story Group member Pablo Hidalgo during one of the film's visual effects review sessions,[8] and was a cut design for a Scarif tree creature.[9] They were first identified in the video "Every Creature in the Star Wars Movies," which was released by the Star Wars Kids YouTube channel in 2019.[3] The design was reused for "That Would Be Me," an episode of Star Wars: Andor.[10] Concept art was created by Tyler Scarlet.[7]
