Velvoid was a fabric that could be used to make clothing.[1] In 132 BBY,[2] the Neimoidian Chief Officer of the Trade Federation WD-2550 Whydah-class Yield Conveyer Fallon, Queya, wore dark blue robes made of velvoid with a crushed pile finish and a silver trim that denoted her rank. [1]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, velvoid appeared in "Lost / Found,"[3] the first episode of the television series Star Wars: The Acolyte, which aired June 4, 2024, on Disney+.[4] Prior to the release of the episode, the material was revealed in a trailer exclusively shown at Celebration Europe[5] during the Lucasfilm Studio Showcase on April 7, 2023.[6]
The material was not identified in the episode[3] and was first identified in Pablo Hidalgo's 2025 reference book Star Wars: The Acolyte: The Visual Guide.[1] The material originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it first appeared in L. Neil Smith's 1983 novel Lando Calrissian and the Mindharp of Sharu, which was the first book in the Star Wars: The Lando Calrissian Adventures series.[7]
