Vella was a journalist active during the Imperial Era.[1] In 3 ABY,[2] when Beol De'Rruyet, head of De'Rruyet Industries, intended to unveil a replica of the ancient Nihil[1] marauder organization[3] device known as the Path engine, Vella was sent to De'Rruyet Center[1] on the planet[3] Midarr[4] to provide a live report. Domina Tagge of the House of Tagge listened to the report aboard her flagship, the Acquisitor.[1]

Behind the scenes

Vella was mentioned in flashbacks in the sixth issue of the 2020 comic series Star Wars: Doctor Aphra. The issue was written by Alyssa Wong and published by Marvel Comics[1] on November 25, 2020. Prior to the release of the comic, the journalist was mentioned in a preview article of the issue that was published on StarWars.com on November 18 of the same year.[5]
