The Vagaari pirates were a pirate organization of the Vagaari species, active in the Unknown Regions of the galaxy.[3] They were defeated by the Chiss Ascendancy during the Vagaari pirate operations.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Vagaari pirates were first mentioned in canon in the 2020 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Chaos Rising by Timothy Zahn.[1] They share many similarities to the Vagaari Empire of Zahn's Star Wars Legends novels, including the 2004 novel Survivor's Quest in which they first appeared.[4] The canon Vagaari pirate operations mirror the events of the Outbound Flight Project from Zahn's 2006 Legends novel Outbound Flight.[5]
