Vader's lightsaber,[7] formerly known as Kirak Infil'a's lightsaber[8] was a green-bladed curved-hilt lightsaber owned by Jedi Master Kirak Infil'a and briefly Darth Vader during the early stages of the Great Jedi Purge.[1]

History

Infil'a used his saber to practice with the Jedi training droid, Arex, and battle the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader, defeating him in their first encounter.[1] After Vader's return, Infil'a faced him once more, however, Vader distracted him by breaching water tanks below where they were fighting. While Infil'a used the Force to keep the water from drowning the citizens, Vader used the Force to take his lightsaber before killing Infil'a.[4]

Vader traveled to the planet Mustafar to bleed its kyber crystal.[2] Vader used the saber when he first fought the Grand Inquisitor and damaged his lightsaber.[9] He also used it during the hunt for Jocasta Nu.[10] During an attempt on Vader's life on Cabarria, the hilt was shattered and subsequently destroyed by the combined strain of a tractor rifle and Vader's pulling it back with the Force. Salvaging the crystal,[11] Vader would soon craft a new hilt for it.[6]
