Plot summary
On Coruscant, Darth Vader meets Emperor Darth Sidious, who presents his own Sith lightsaber and challenges him to a duel. Palpatine easily disarms Vader, stating that he still fights like a Jedi. Palpatine then explains that a Sith's true weapon is not the lightsaber, but the dark side of the Force itself. The lightsaber, he says, is merely a symbol—a flame representing the great blaze of the dark side.
