Compromise Announcement

I have posted the compromise agreement on the Palpatine discussion page. Hopefully this will signal the end of the arguments and begin the healing process, and the Palpatine-article debate will finally settle down for good. You may wish to read the announcement, but only at your convenience. You have a puppy to play with, after all. I'm a cat man myself.

Now, if we're done, I need a drink, and as my wife has been asleep for hours, I need to join her and get some rest. Thank you for being willing to talk to me, and for letting me work with you rather than against you. Message me on my discussion page when you're ready to begin. Until then, "have a better one." ;) Erik Pflueger 20px 06:30, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Anyway, as I was trying to say on the IRC page, I had started removing, adding, and sourcing. I won't be able to do it all tonight - I'm taking medicine for my hand, which is better but still has pain, and the medicine knocks me out. I have, however, set aside a good chunk of Saturday to go through revising what you've decided to start with. Then, you should be able to give it a go-over.

My one concern is the stuff concerning C'baoth. It's all canon, and I can source it. Is it a question of rewriting it to focus more on Palps but give the same info? It is a good example of the effect he had on others in his orbit, and since C'baoth would continue showing up in the middle of Palpatine's schemes in other stories, is it so bad that a little time - a single paragraph - is devoted to his relationship with Palps? And for that matter, where's the harm in leaving it the size it is now? As long as it fits the Manual guidelines, show me the problem. Don't cut just for length.

Anyway, my meds compel me to go to sleep now, but I'll have this section all in hand by the time you return, and then the back-and-forth should begin. Don't be gone long, but do give some of your time to that puppy of yours. :) Best regards! Erik Pflueger 20px 05:45, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

    • Okay, I've put some time into your temporary page now. You may wish to look at it and give it a work-through yourself, then let me know what else needs work. Erik Pflueger 20px 01:23, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
      • Per your request, I adjusted some of the Triclops material to be less "weasely." I will, however, continue to look through sources related to him to either prove or disprove his true parentage.

I really have to caution you, though, on something that will probably come up a lot regarding Palps: There is a great deal about him THAT WE SIMPLY CANNOT DEFINITIVELY STATE. Until the prequels, little had been officially established about his true character and motivations. What remained was what others said or alleged about him. That happens a lot with characters who are larger than life, and it HAS to be taken into account. I'm not saying it may specifically apply to Triclops, but it sure does elsewhere - with his interactions with Plagueis, for instance, which may not be definitively settled even when James Luceno's book about Plagueis is published... if it ever gets published. When being unequivocal is impossible, we may have no choice but to be equivocal; in other words, "weasely."

I also have to ask if the material regarding Triclops even belongs in that section of the article. I'm not asking to remove it altogether, but I wonder if it should be moved elsewhere. Maybe right after Sidious dealt with the Sith splinter cults, for instance. Or, better still, as a part of that subsection below the main article that specifically dealt with Palpatine's romantic or physical relationships. Give it some thought. Erik Pflueger 20px 03:19, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

        • I came up with a kind of alternative way to rephrase the same information this weekend. I thought I'd float it by you. The advantages, I thought, were in formatting and organization: strictly-factual information regarding each of Palpatine's "friendships" could thus be contained in that one section pertaining to each "friend," without the need for padding or fluff to expand them into paragraph length. There may very well be disadvantages, too: they don't make things shorter, and they may, as you pointed out before with C'baoth, become more about the "friend" than Palpatine. But there is a simple arc to each: how they met, what they did for him, and how they ended up being repaid for their friendship. If I have a defense for spending any time on these characters, it's that it provides context, in that it tells us more about Palpatine by describing how he dealt with others as a politician.

I didn't add sourcing simply because I didn't want to spend any more time on it until I had ascertained what you thought about it. It wasn't because I had forgotten or didn't care. It's really just something I thought I should suggest, but please feel free to accept or reject it as you please, or to offer a third possibility. I'll be fine with it regardless.

I would like to put in parenthetically that I'm having a nice time doing this, and I'm glad we're doing it this way. Whatever we expected before we started, I'm finding this to be a pleasurable and painless experience so far. I understand that our different approaches make us bound to lock horns at least once, and it certainly takes more time than your previous approach, but I am certain that, if we stick with it, it will be far more successful and lasting. I suppose it really comes down to the old question: "D'ya want it fast or ya want it right?" I'm glad we've both chosen to do this right, and enjoy ourselves while we do so. Erik Pflueger 20px 05:04, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

  • I'm glad you prefer the new try, but I would like some clarification if you would. You said, "Despite making it longer, I actually prefer this version, as it will allow us to slim things later." Could you please elaborate on what you meant by slimming things later? I'm hoping it would not mean that, after making sure the maximum number of details are kept, they would eventually be removed anyway. In fact, I submit that, this way, more details can be added to sections like this and yet things would still be kept in order.

I also have to put in that I don't see this approach working across the board, at least not yet. I may still think of a way to make it work, though, but for the present the point of this new approach is to try to gather together material for sections like this, which are not bound together by an overarcing story such as those sections dealing with specific film, comic or book stories. If it helps, that's great, but I can't yet see it helping everywhere.

I'm not absolutely certain if we're done with this section for now, but I can't think of anything else in there that really needs help. I'll give it one more once-over tomorrow, and pending your go-ahead, I'll then insert it into the main article and we'll move onward.

I also need to ask in advance, if only to prepare: do you have intentions regarding the section dealing with the events of Phantom Menace? If I had a genuine baby here, it's that part, and I must point out in advance that other Inquisitors had no problem with it, as long as it was properly sourced and stripped of fluff and speculation. That's been done. So I must say that if I were to put up a fight on anything, it would probably be that. The rest I can stand changing, knowing that you'd keep all the relevant material. But with the Episode I section, is there really anything that needs radical surgery? Or does it just need a few simple tweaks? I hope it's the latter. Erik Pflueger 20px 05:47, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

    • I'll have to be satisfied with that for the present. I'm confident you'll find the Phantom section already meets your standards. As far as our current section, I'm quite sure we're just about done. Now, I'm heading off to read a bit before turning in for the night. Thanks for the progress we've made this weekend! Erik Pflueger 20px 06:00, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
  • I added the revised sections back into the article proper. I did some additional tweaking and rearranging that you have not seen, but I'm sure they'll pose no problems for you, with one possible exception: I moved the Triclops section to the section dealing with Palpatine's romances, mostly because I felt it was just out of place where it was. I did not delete anything in it and I put no weasel words back, just moved it is all. If you disagree, please feel free to discuss the matter. I'll be glad to brainstorm some other option.

I also came up with a provisional subsection to put all the material dealing with Cloak of Deception and other events leading up to The Phantom Menace. Eventually it will have to be expanded and beefed up with more information; it's just too generalized to suit my tastes. But for now it at least looks organized, and for me, that's enough for today.

So, phase one has come and gone, and it all went smoothly for me. I hope it went just as well for you. Now I guess it comes to the big plate: the Episode I section. I'm hoping we'll do just as well there. We'll soon see. Just let me know when you're ready to begin. Until then, good night and God Bless! Erik Pflueger 20px 03:13, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

    • Don't worry about a thing, I only composed that stuff today. Besides, it's been a piss-poor week for me too: too much work to do and not enough time, a daughter-in-law with boyfriend trouble and a grandson with pneumonia. Who has time for Star Wars? Frankly, I needed the time off. As to the IRC, it's been working fine for me tonight, so I must assume it will keep working. I was just there looking for you, but found nothing of real interest to me. So I guess the question is, now that you saw my new stuff, what do you think so far? Erik Pflueger 20px 02:37, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
      • Don't worry about the delay; I am about to go to Orlando for a couple days anyway. I've been working on Palpatine stuff in my own time. Just have a nice Easter weekend. And remember: slow and steady wins the race. Erik Pflueger 20px 13:46, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

GAs and FAs

  • To be honest, I'm not sure which all GAs and FAs you've brought up. Anyway, if I missed one on the WookieeProject Page, feel free to add it and call me on it in IRC or something. Thanks a lot. Don't forget to take a look at Crix! Atarumaster88 20px (Audience Chamber) 03:27, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Exile downunder?

―TROOPS

Hey... despite the fact that Legacy of the Force: Exile was supposedly released last month, it's never turned up at any of my local bookshops. No surprise there, since these shops are shit, so today I headed out to Sydney CBD to find it. I hit Galaxy, Dymocks, Borders, Angus & Robertson and Kinokuniya... and none of them had it! Anyhoo, just wondering if you have come across it in your area, wherever exactly that might be. --Azizlight 07:46, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Mid April eh? That sucks :-( I've been avoiding the forums and haven't been spoiled as yet. Actually I did come across a spoiler a couple of weeks back, but amazingly I managed to block it out and now I can't remember it! Wish that always worked. Well, i guess it's fun to look for some filler in the meantime, but Champions of the Force? What were you thinking? :-P I've decided to buy all the Quinlan Vos comic arcs, since I didn't bother reading them before. Need to see if he deserves all that hype that surrounds him. --Azizlight 00:06, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

WC

For the first time today I was able to listen to your Wookiee-Casts, and so I listened to them all back to back. I must say, I was impressed. I enjoyed them very much. Ah... to get to the point, I don't have a mike and I'm not allowed to have one, so I am unable to do an Anderson Tape-thing. Should I send you a text version or something (not by e-mail—I'm not allowed to do that either) of it, or just not try for it? Thank you for your time. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 23:05, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Bimkall sector

Could you explain the rationale behind calling for a merge? —Silly Dan (talk) 12:04, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

  • But it's not an alias for anything, and it's too small a part of the HoloNet News topic to be sensibly included in that article. A separate article is the only reasonable way to include that information. The only way I could think of to merge it would be if more information appeared on the erroneous story, and an article could be written on what led to that process (some sort of Stephen Glass scenario.) In the meantime, however, it is practically the textbook example of a short article which is perfectly acceptable here but cannot be expanded any further. —Silly Dan (talk) 12:18, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Wookiee-Cast

Hey Fourdot, just wanted to tell you I thought Wookiee-Cast Episode VII was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed the Vos supporter part. I share your pain about the one disc ESB case. My copy of ESB isn't two discs. And by the way, ROTS has the best score of any movie. ;) Chack Jadson 21:20, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Yeah, the ESB score is pretty good. Well, just hope Quinlan...er you know, doesn't listen. I doubt he even goes on this site anymore. I might try your contest, but I know I wouldn't win. Chack Jadson 21:54, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Webstrip Artist

We talked on the IRC not long ago about the artist thing. I would like give you a few links, to see if I am a good enough artist for the job. These will just start things out, so if you like them, I will make a few more.

Those are the two test images I have created at the moment. I have also created two other images that will show what I can do with different fonts and what not.

Thank you very much for taking the time to look at these. And also, great job on the new WC! I really enjoyed it. And make sure we get more out of Vos supporter.  :-P supergeeky1 20px The Cantina 08:39, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

    • Thanks. I was able to finish the rest of the images except for the Solus one. There is something about that sketch I find hard to animate it. But not to worry, I will do my best to create it. The links to the images are included below. I also have an idea for it, where there would be an Episode 0. It would come out before the actual webstrip became avalible. I don't really wanna get to it on here, so I'll talk to you about it on the IRC next time I see you. Anyway, thanks again! supergeeky1 20px The Cantina 15:56, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Jedi Apparel

You noticed? Heh, I make it a point to keep up with the Inq (especially you. I find you most interesting and amusing at times (Did that sound weird?)). So what would you consider a good subject? I have taken 'dares' on FAmanship before. Obviously, because I don't give a hoot about Padmé. PS. May I ask who won the WC FA contest, or are you going to mention it in tomorrow's episode?-Solus (Bird of Prey) 00:40, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Oh, so there'll be a second round? I look forward to the next episode. And you didn't offend me, to really have my name mentioned by someone else is cool, pretty much. And, frankly, I find your choice of subject to be different as well, so we're even. I chose Jedi apparel because I could do something about a collaborative sourcing effort, y'know, one with a lot of sources so that you don't go into detail about each one. I've never read Leviathan, yet I can write tidbit about it in the Diversity of the New Jedi Order section. Doing an article on one thing in particular and getting it to FA requires all sources available. I don't have a wide variety of sources, just a lot of books. One comic. The other reason was Imp dared me to do it. Oh, and the reason I chose Are-You-An-Angel?'s wardrobe is because I saw it languishing in the IDrive and I knew I could do something about it. My Mom has sewing books as big as Bibles. A character, eh? Would Gelesi do to start on? Just because he has my Revan's face, plus he's a single-sourcer so I can enter him in the WC should I make it to Round 2. Epilogue: I don't see any reason to lambast the Inq, I think its a great idea. That's why I keep up with it. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 01:29, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
    • FA, okay. As for the alternatives to owning a source, not allowed and I don't know of any anyway. Easing off KotOR is fine with me; really, I just wait for inspiration to strike. With the GH-7, all it took was seeing his mug on the search icon and I wanted to FA him. I'm kinda spontaneous. Veers? If you think I can do it, okay. Since I am utterly incapable of figuring out what's wrong with an article, I'll put it up for Inq reveiw. Thanks. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 02:36, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

Question

I apologize for asking a question that does not concern wookiepedia (and leaving you a new messages thing), but why did the admins at starwars fanon block you? I couldn't ask you over there as you were blocked. Unsigned comment by 75.165.61.100 (talk • contribs)

  • I was blocked because I responded to a series of personal attacks against me with intrest. Needless to say, the perpretrators themselves were not blocked. .... 09:25, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

The perpretrators were not blocked? The swfanon policy must be diferent from the Wookieepedia one then, you guys usually block people for personal attacks here.

Honestly...

I skip the entire section that has Sikons commentary, I am not going to even try and understand it. He also is on my "enemy list" we simply just dont agree. Thats my feedback. RC 2413 05:16, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

Komedy and Cujo

Because I'm a curious soul, I was wondering what to expect from next week's Wookiee-Cast. Will it have that Cujo-announcement-voice-thing and/or a Komedy Styling/s, due to the unique nature of the next podcast? -Solus (Bird of Prey) 20:15, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

Thank you again! -Solus (Bird of Prey) 11:44, 18 April 2007 (UTC)EDIT: Erm, may I ask what the material is that you're sending? That way I know what to prepare for and stuff. I'm not sporadic like you, I have a fairly detailed outline. ;P -Solus (Bird of Prey) 11:47, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
      • Sorry about the delay in replying. Okay, thank you for the instructions. I don't know how to get on IRC or where it is or how to get a hold of Xwing328 there, so I'm afraid that part might be difficult. I will leave an opening for an Anderson Tape and a Komedy styling, that's easy. I like the 'format' of your regular Wookiee-Cast stuff (featured story-even better featured story-etc.), and, frankly, I can't think of a better one. Or I'm too lazy to. I'm afraid I can't imitate you even if I tried, though. I'm terrible with impressions. And don't worry, I'll make fun of you. And thanks for the tip about not speaking into the mike, I'm new at this stuff so thanks.-Solus (Bird of Prey) 12:21, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

          • Thank you. Any news of an Anderson tape or a Komedy Styling yet? -Solus (Bird of Prey) 11:51, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
            • Okay. I have a kind of problem, see, my computer won't let me play or do anything with something ending in .ogg, I don't know why. Could you, perhaps, change it to a different file format? Thank you, and sorry for the inconvenience.-Solus (Bird of Prey) 18:04, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
              • Audacity...? I have no clue what that is or if I'm allowed to download it. I actually recorded the bulk of the episode in GarageBand on Thursday, leaving room for a Komedy and an Tape, everything else is done. Um, I'll keep searching for a way to either play an .ogg or change the format or something. Thank you. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 00:57, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
                • Thank you very much! After a bit of figuring I figured out how to imitate Cujo. I noted that his passage to the US was illegal.-Solus (Bird of Prey) 01:03, 23 April 2007 (UTC)EDIT: RapidShare is giving me a questionarre, and I have no idea if I want it downloaded from Cogent or Level(3) or Bippity Boppity Boo. Here's the first and presumably only installment of Wookieepedia Theater Theatre. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=N78L88RT I've included a commercial as well, if you want to use it; I have no idea what it means either. - Lord Hydronium 10:31, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Fanon

Since the fanon ban page's been pretty much overwhelmed with opposition, maybe we should start a new CT specifically for word/character limits. As it stands now, the whole thing's been kind of overshadowed by the huge argument at the bottom. CooperTFN 09:00, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

Blow-by-blow accounts

I don't think I've ever completely explained my viewpoint on blow-by-blow accounts of media. This viewpoint was inspired by the Star Trek episode articles at Memory Alpha. To put it simply: Complete geeking out is fun. To elaborate: We're a Star Wars encyclopedia devoted to painstakingly detailing every single element of the Star Wars universe for Star Wars fans to read. So why not? Why not catalogue everything? Adamwankenobi 03:49, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

  • No offense taken. But to counter that with an equally no-offense-meant statement, the reason I've all but left Wikipedia is because of these types of limits. :P BTW, I do agree with you on images. Adamwankenobi 04:02, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Webstrip

I have a version of the first panel done. I improvised a bit and added the url at the top, so if you don't like it, it's no problem to fix. Also, if you don't like the blur around LucidFox, I can try and fix that, but then again, I will probably be doing it over anyway. There's really not that much to see in this panel, just LucidFox from behind, so if you would like another angle for him, just say so. Anyway, here it is:

P.S. While I was taking a break, I also created this. Don't know if you want him in All About Steve, but here he is anyway. Not Mishtah Pants, but Mistah Pants with his "I don't give a damn" attitude:

Wookiee cast

The music in the begining of episode IX was actually the type of music that goes good with a "Star Wars" Podcast. {{SUBST:User:Gyasz Kudeb/sig}}(Have a party/meeting/talk at my Cantina) 00:41, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

Fourdot...

Hey, Fourdot, I know we haven't gotten along very well for, well, ever. But I'm sick of there always being a state of hostility between us. Maybe that's just me, though. But anyway, I'm sorry. I have no reason to be angry at you. We're both people trying to do the right thing for Wookieepedia. We should be a team, not opponents. Thanks and Farewell

I would like to thank you for your mentioning me on the WC, and for your compliment. I was very much hoping the cast was okay, mostly because I am pretty much unable to tell a good one from a bad one. I would like to know what made it a good one (and what could have been improved), just as something to keep in mind for anything I might do later on, and if I don't ask I will never find out. I would also like to say goodbye, since I know you are going to be/are on haitus. So, so long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye. I hope to see you again, soon. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 21:25, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

              • I went on iTunes and refreshed my podcasts and it hasn't showed up. I looked up the Wookie-Cast on iTunes Store and it only had thru Episode IX Part II. And if I download Episode X from the site, which do I download? i'm not sure which is compatible with an iPod. And I will be at the SWW on June 1st as well. Jedipilot94 19:32, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
                • I just listen to them straight from the site, so I'm not sure which ones are compatible with an iPod. As for SWW, coincidence, eh? Heh, I'll probably be one of the people trying to get on the quiz things. On the Who Wants to be a Millionare? thing I almost won a cruise last year. Pity they took it down, they're building a ride there, now. The question I missed on was a stinker, though. It was asking about an award GL won. Not fair. And it was the 250,000. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 20:18, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
                  • Poor Solus. I will be in the quiz show, too. I came in second last year. (Beams with pride) Me and 5 others got put out on "Who is the Prime Minister of Kamino?" I misspelled, so it didn't count. We should try and meet up or something. That would be cool, and we could put it here on Wookieepedia. Jedipilot94 (*Fo-Shizzle*) 15:27, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
                    • I don't know how we'd meet up. We don't know what the other looks like. And I'm not even sure that we have an article dedicated to SWW. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 15:41, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
                      • What is your e-mail address? We can always make a page about SWW. It would be cool to have a bunch of Wookieepedians meet up at not only Celebration IV, but SWW. We can find a way to meet up. Jedipilot94 (*Fo-Shizzle*) 17:22, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
                        • I do not have an e-mail address, and even if I did, I would not be allowed to give it out. And I cannot make a page about SWW, because I have zero info about them before 2006. We would have to find someone who has documented them.-Solus (Bird of Prey) 19:47, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

                            • I don't know if I could do that. I'll be with my family. But you will be sure I and my brother will sign up for any not-kiddie trivia stuff. We'll probably end up competing, anyhoo. PS. Sorry, 4dot, if your talk page is turning into a forum. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 02:38, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

                                • I know. It's kind of a personal reason why I can't meet you at some place at a certain time. I can meet you at certain events, though. Of course, I won't know what'll be going on on the 1st, I'll find out when I get there. Here's how you can recognize me (sarcasm): I'm not Warwick Davis, Kenny Baker, Jay Laga'ala, or Ray Park, I won't be in the parade, and I'll be in a somewhat unorthodox Jedi robe. Hey, I only get to wear it a couple times a year. :) Of course, I may be at SWW some other day of some other week. It's an advantage that comes with living relatively close to WDW. As does having a map of the park in your head. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 14:30, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

                • Naw, the line was 2 and a half hours from the back, maybe next time, when we haven't so much to do (our family was already split up into two lines) we will go the merchandise thing. And though I've been to MGM a lot, I've never been to Pizza Planet. I mostly eat at the Backlot place, next to Star Tours. Not the greatest, but its cheap. And you can eat it on the fly, I ate mine while waiting in line. Y'know me mentioning that I'd been in the 'hotseat' at the Star Wars Millionare thing? What was weird was two people recognized me. Well well, Mr. Dot-Elipsis, it seems you may be lurking around here still after all. There's (hopefully!) an Inq meeting tomorrow and so far we have only a handful of confirmed attendees. OH SHIT SPOILERS

GODDAMN INFERNO SPOILERS! FUCK, LOOK AWAY! AW CHRIST, IT'S ALMOST TOO LATE!

Ben disables Omas' guards, then infiltrates his office. He has a fight with Omas' security droid, but Omas gets the drop on him and holds him at gunpoint. When he sees it's Ben, he's surprised, and Ben Forces the gun out of his hand. Omas thinks Ben is Jacen's assassin, and is disappointed that it had to be him, but even offers him a drink. Ben makes him close the blast doors. He tells Ben about the bomb, and suggests he kill him slowly, so Ben has time to escape, since Omas doesn't want Ben's life on his hands too. He was originally intending to use it on Jacen.

Ben tells Omas that he's going after him because of Mara. Omas is surprised, and Ben confirms that he wasn't involved with the Force. He tells Omas that he figured it was Jacen all along, since he knew Jacen had been with Lumiya. He asks Omas to disarm the bomb and claims he wants to fake Omas' death, then use that to get close to Jacen and get evidence on him. Ben actually intends to kill him, though it's for the same reason he claims, and Omas knows it. Meanwhile, Coruscant Security has arrived and are breaking through the blast doors. Omas lunges for the gun he dropped and starts shooting near enough to Ben to make him use his lightsaber, while shouting that Ben is trying to kill him. He finally forces him against a wall, and as Ben lowers his blade, Omas throws himself on it, so it stabs him in the torso. He asks Ben to forgive him, and says it was the only way he could get to Jacen. Then the door bursts open, and Ben runs out of the room as Omas is dying.

Cal Omas

Hi there. First off, I wanted to compliment you on your efforts to fix the Cal Omas article. Since you put so much work into it, I wanted to discuss a possible change/edit. Your section on his personality is accurate, but only in the post-NJO books. I think you make him soudn a bit more deceptive or reactionary than he was. If anything, the NJO shows him to also be a man posessing great humor, a firm devotion to the Alliance, and a man who genuinely supports the Jedi (despite some of the disagreements in current books). Are you open to editing that section at all? I am fine if you do it, but I think that we can increase it a bit. Thoughts? AdmiralNick22 00:28, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

  • I may try to add some to it tomorrow. Feel free to add to it as well. My main goal is that it captures all aspects of his personality. Thanks for the response. AdmiralNick22 04:24, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Grievous

Fixed your objections to Grievous. He really plays a small role in the Clone Wars Adventures, hardly worth even mentioning. Chack Jadson Talk 00:16, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

  • Removed some trivia and merged the rest with the Contradicitons section. Working on Clone Wars Adventures too. Chack Jadson Talk 01:07, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Userpage...

What exactly IS your userpage image? KAJ??? WTF?! Jedipilot94 (*Fo-Shizzle*) 00:45, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

  • It's a webstrip, and if I have to explain it, it's practically void. So don't worry about it. Thefourdotelipsis 08:05, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

MP3s

Got a couple MP3s for ya, probably Wookieecast-worthy, but there's no enochf.com for me to keep them in the meantime. I guess I could either e-mail 'em to you or upload them to Wookieepedia temporarily. Enochf 17:16, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Hey, I don't know if you know this...

...but it was made policy a while back (at least I think so) not to put the "1st" tag on articles with only one appearance. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 01:04, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

  • I've seen otherwise, to be honest. If you can find me these CTs, I'll relent. Thefourdotelipsis 01:06, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
    • I'm afraid I don't have the time, but I'll see if I can find it. To tell you the truth, I don't know if there was even a CT about it. I'm sure one of the "older" admins would know whether or not this is true. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 01:09, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
      • I do know of such a CT, but there are several, and I think that all of them result in no consensus. If my memory serves me well. Wheels on Fire, and all that. Thefourdotelipsis 01:11, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Palpatine's croch, YUCK

  • First off, this topic is very discusting but it must be said. Second in Star Wars: Dark Empire it is shown that Palpatine doesn't have testicles, but its only because there were kids reading the series, and the artist didn't want to disgust the young readers (and he didn't want to get sued by the kids parents). It is also possible that Palpatine ordered that he didn't want his clones to have a crouch. But I think the first is the most likely one.
    • Having a crotchless clone is like having a sugar-free caramel. There's no point. And if they really wanted to make Dark Empire kiddy oriented, A) Cam Kennedy wouldn't have drawn it, and B) The frame would have been cropped higher. Thefourdotelipsis 02:29, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

The Wookiee-Cast

I'd quite like oto contribute in the second season, I don't know how regularly It'd have to be or what I could do, but if you've got a specific set of requirements I'd be interested Humorbot5 18:45, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

  • Sorry about this; usually I have the common courtesy to post on someone else's talk page, but I can't quite figure out whether to talk to Humourbot5 or JaggedFel. All you have to do is submit a recording of...basically anything. If I think it's anything, I'll put it in the show, and request that you contribute regularly. If I don't think it's anything, well...try again. ;) Thefourdotelipsis 23:24, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
    • I can't really be doing with the Jagged Fel account anymore, I'll delete the template on my talk page though, sorry about that. Ok I'll try some stuff sometime later. Thanks. Humorbot5 22:05, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Inq meeting

Hey 4dot, we are having an meeting for Inqs soon, and your attendance/input would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 02:22, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Votefarming?

So making people aware of policy changes that will directly effect them, and which they may otherwise have absolutely no knowledge of otherwise is against the rules? Oh yeah that's fair. My mistake. Next time I would request that you actually point me to the section of the rules where it clearly states that I am breaking one rather than making baseless threats towards me. And yes they are baseless as all you can do is ban me and I would hardly consider that as "dire consequences" considering I'll still be able to use the board, I simply won't be able to work on it, thus you would be hurting the site a lot more than you would be hurting me. So in other words try being a little more diplomatic as you come off sounding rather silly as a board power monger, which in reality holds very little power. Livingston (The Force will be with you. Always.) 03:33, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

  • sorry to intrude on your conversation but i was checking the recent changes when i came across this and as far as i can see there is nothing wrong with what Livingston has done as the vote will no doubt effect the whole of the wiki and its users so it should be there right to know about it wether they decide to vote is up to them but if there is a vote that say limits the amount of edits you can make on a certain artical or something like that why should the people who don't check the forums regurally but still contrubute to the wiki not have there say ? as the only way i found it is through recent changes so really there should be a way for people to be notifieyed of things that may effect them with out having to check the senate hall every day or so just incase --Dark Lord Xander (Embrace The Dark Side!)20px 03:44, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
  • although on second it is getting alot of air space in the recent changes AAAAGGGGHHHH!!! please disraged both my comments while im sure there are some valid points in there somewhere it would take to much of your time to find them

Grievous (again)

Finally fixed your Grievous objections. Chack Jadson Talk 22:11, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

In 1924, I posed for another sculpture

Found another source for Vader Sessions. That line's from Paul Robeson. Found the original play on Google Books, actually; you can see the line in that preview, but not all of the play is there, so if there's anything else, I don't know. - Lord Hydronium 21:50, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

MC80 Type 2

So I see that X-wing Alliance provides a name of the Liberty-type cruisers. Is the Home One cruisers said to be Type 1s? VT-16 18:18, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

  • To your response: Hmmm, since the name is now an amalgam of different sources, I propose using simply MC80 Star Cruiser for the Home One type, and the new name for the Liberty type (MC80 Star Cruiser Type 2). The MC80a was explicitly used for a later series of Mon Cal ships, along with the MC80B and MC90, according to Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels. If the Home One type is mentioned as the primary type, maybe a better conjectural name for it would be MC80 Star Cruiser Type 1, since Type 2 is defined as the Liberty type. The existing name is already conjectural. VT-16 11:47, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
    • To your second reply: Better let you do it, since you're an admin and I usually end up in heated arguments when something like that comes up. ;p. VT-16 12:27, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
      • So, no MC80 Star Cruiser Type 1, then? VT-16 12:56, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
        • I've added the rest of the name changes. It looks very good and orderly now. :) VT-16 13:23, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Kothlis II

  • As the name of a space station, "Kothlis II" is properly italicized. Toprawa and Ralltiir 01:39, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
    • Space Stations are locations, not ships, and therefore do not get italicised. Thefourdotelipsis 01:43, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
      • I am curious where you are hearing this from. If you are refering to the Hoopaju-class orbital space station, Kothlis II (just an example), it would make sense to me to classify it as the name of a space vessel, immobile or not. And, if not, then I wish you admins would get together and make it so everyone, meaning all of the admins, follow the same guidelines. I contributed a large section to the Death Star II page concerning the acquisition of the DSII plans, and mentioned the Kothlis II's role. My contribution was edited by an admin to make it more up to par with a FA, but the name Kothlis II was left italicized, which is where I'm coming from. Toprawa and Ralltiir 01:59, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
        • I don't know why that happened, but it shouldn't have. I agree, there is no note of it in the MOS, but that's basically because a space station is not a vessel. At all. I've conferred with several of my fellow users on IRC, and they agree that it shouldn't be italicized. But feel free to start a CT, if you must. Thefourdotelipsis 02:06, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
