Kyber saber

If you check the talk page, you'll find that OOM-224 mentioned that The Freemaker Adventures is non-canon to the Canon continuity, not the Legends one. Hence the edit in question. SilverSunbird (talk) 18:25, August 14, 2020 (UTC)

  • So should I remove the {{Top}} template? Sweetkid01 (talk) 18:34, August 14, 2020 (UTC)

Re: Kyber Saber

To be honest, I don't know. Other Freemaker Adventures articles also have the Canon tag despite being non-canon, so I'd just leave it as it's now. 01miki10 Open comlink 19:23, August 14, 2020 (UTC)

Links

Please stop removing links from articles. The links that you have been removing in your recent edits should all be linked in the way that they are. You should familiarize yourself with our linking policies and practices. Thank you for your cooperation. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 21:48, August 23, 2020 (UTC)

@Toprawa and Ralltiir: It just seemed like the articles were heavily clogged by superfluous links. My edits were based mostly off of Wikipedia:OVERLINK (e.g. general presumption that readers would not need links to/from "he", "death", "days", e.t.c); it seems that a lot of Wookieepedia articles are plagued by overlinkage and "easter egg links".
The Wookieepedia manual of style doesn't seem to say much about what links do and do not belong though; it says subjects should be linked once upon its first mention in the infobox, intro and body, but it's unclear how the rules apply to piped links, and it doesn't explicitly state anything about duplicate links (one of the links I removed was a duplicate link). Could you please clarify why the links should be kept? {{Sweetkid01|Talk|Contributions}} 23:49, August 23, 2020 (UTC)
  • Hello. Please note that Wikipedia policies completely fail to apply here on Wookieepedia. And per our policies (and years and years of precedent), everything that can be linked to in an article's infobox, introduction section, and body proper, must be linked to, regardless whether via straight linking or pipelinking, upon the subject's first mention. And yes, that includes even the most seemingly mundane subjects like "him," "killed," etc. And just to repeat myself, the "sea of blue" concept is not to be avoided at the cost of linking the subjects per our Manual of Style. Imperators II(Talk) 21:45, August 24, 2020 (UTC)
    • But why should links be made if the linked page isn't even relevant to the surrounding text, as with "one-time" where the article "time" talks about a completely different use for the subject (unit of time v.s. amount of times? It feels like the Wookieepedia rules on linking boil down to "no duplicate links, but make the article as blue as possible", which makes it very difficult to find useful, relevant links in an article. {{Sweetkid01|Talk|Contributions}} 22:11, August 24, 2020 (UTC)

Italics in quotes

Please stop removing italics formatting from quotes. If you haven't noticed, every single edit of this nature that you've made recently has been reverted, and there's a reason for that. We strive to present quotes exactly as they are presented in sources, which includes any italics. It's perfectly normal and acceptable, and indeed correct, to present italics in an italicized quote by un-italicizing a given item. So you need to stop removing these. They are not in error and need to stay for accuracy. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 23:41, August 30, 2020 (UTC)

I understand, but please, give me a bit of a break - I just want to help the wiki, and I'm very confused about the guidelines about Wookieepedia (and also think some of them (like WP:MOS#Linking) should be changed). It's really annoying when I try to improve the wiki in good faith but BAM! get instantly reverted with a rather blunt message on my talk page. Worst of all, I can't seem to get any guidance from you guys; I asked for some more information from both you and Imperators II so that I could either learn how to comply with the standards, or to get them changed, but neither of you ever respond. I don't know if you get notifications when I reply or not, but PLEASE be ready for a reply whenever you leave a message on my talk page!
And, if you do look at this, please reply to me here to answer two questions for me so I have the slightest bit of knowledge here: Do you get notified when I leave a message on your talk page, and do you get notified when I ping you (e.g: @Toprawa and Ralltiir)? {{Sweetkid01|Talk|Contributions}} 21:11, August 31, 2020 (UTC)
