Sourcing
Thank you for contributing to Wookieepedia! Please note that at least one of your recent additions added unverified information to a mainspace article. Additions to Wookieepedia's articles must be verifiable by a reliable source per our sourcing policy, and unverified information may be reverted or deleted. Continuing to add unverified information may lead to you being blocked from editing by an administrator. Thank you. RattsT (talk) 19:14, May 18, 2020 (UTC)
RE: Clone Officers
Hi there, you added information to the clone trooper officer page without providing any references. Per our sourcing policy, all information added to the wiki must be properly referenced to a canonical source. I did not see the other edits you made to that page, nor the other unsourced additions, but all of it currently violates our policy. Also, although those characters are indeed Clone Officers, there are many individuals who have that designation, and adding them all to that one page clutters the infobox. It would be better to add that information to more specific pages, i.e. listing Havoc on the Advanced Recon Commando page instead. RattsT (talk) 22:15, May 18, 2020 (UTC)
RE: Question
I would say maybe you could open the links in a new tab, but I guess that depends if you're using a mobile/computer etc. Hopefully I understood what you were asking and that was helpful, if not then my apologies and please tell me if so --Lewisr (talk) 20:55, May 28, 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for your response! I'm afraid I don't really know how those work, the only thing I can suggest is opening the links in new tabs, I assume you can do that on an iPad mini 1st generation right? --Lewisr (talk) 00:55, May 29, 2020 (UTC)
- Oh that sucks, sorry! Yes it does, though it would still be easier to open new tabs so you don't have to keep going forwards and backwards on the same tab, but I will let you decide how you want to do it haha! No worries, hopefully that works for you, let me know whether it works or not --Lewisr (talk) 02:17, May 29, 2020 (UTC)

Fixed mistakes
Hey! Well that is great to hear then that you have fixed them! Thanks for going back and correcting those, but I'm glad you feel good, nice job --Lewisr (talk) 22:46, June 2, 2020 (UTC)
Scroll Box
Hey! I added it in since I figured it would be easier to do it and then you can see what needed to be done, hope that helps for future reference! --Lewisr (talk) 17:19, June 4, 2020 (UTC)
RE:Deleted work
Hey, the reason Vitus removed all your work from the infobox was because adding them was extremely unnecessary—granted that you did all of that work—due to the fact that we have categories for clone trooper officers, Category:Clone trooper commanders and Category:Clone trooper lieutenants. Since there are so many known clone officers, including some unnamed officers, categories were made for all of these officers, like Commander Cody, who is included in Category:Clone Marshal Commanders alongside Bacara. I hope you can understand. Also, if something like this happens again where a user removes your work, please contact the user who did it, and not another user. 18:47, June 4, 2020 (UTC)

- Generally if there is a category for these kind of things, like Erebus has linked above then we don't need to fill out a section for members. Maybe what you could take is write on the page itself about clone trooper officers including examples, though I would advice not to this in a list. Hopefully this is a good compromise for you --Lewisr (talk) 21:27, June 4, 2020 (UTC)
- As has been said, we don't need to list members in an infobox when there is a category for those things. As I suggested, you could write some of them on the page itself, not in the infobox and not in a list --Lewisr (talk) 17:36, June 6, 2020 (UTC)
- Per Lewis, lists are generally discouraged on Wookieepedia because they usually don't provide the same information a category doesn't.

- If you look at Clone Sergeant, you'll see a section that says 'Bearers of the title included Slick,[4] O'Niner,[5] Stew, Crasher of the Clone Youth Brigade,[6] Appo of the 501st Legion,[7] Sinker of the 104th Battalion,[8] and Hunter of Clone Force 99'. I'm saying you should do something similar to that on other pages, but doing a list in the infobox or doing it in a list is generally discouraged so I'd advise against doing it. I'm trying to help you out since its useful to at least document on the page somewhere some bearers of the title --Lewisr (talk) 18:04, June 6, 2020 (UTC)

RE: Thank you
Hey! Thank you for the kind words, I appreciate it! I understand you were new and inexperienced, so of course you wouldn't have automatically known that we generally don't do lists, so I completely get why you added them in. Always happy to help out when new users appear to be willing to listen and realise what they did, just like you did so I commend you for not throwing a tantrum or turning to vandalism like other users have in the past. So thank you! Let me know if you have any questions or anything --Lewisr (talk) 21:17, June 8, 2020 (UTC)
- Yes in future we will tell anyone who does the same that we generally don't do lists! --Lewisr (talk) 00:03, June 9, 2020 (UTC)
RE: Vandalism
Hey! Is this page what you are referring to? If so, that is not actually vandalism, it is someones workpage, and the reason an anime image appears next to it is because that is the users current profile pic. But an admin just removed/hid the category so the page is no longer showing in that category. Thanks for bringing it to attention! --Lewisr (talk) 22:22, June 12, 2020 (UTC)
- No worries you wasn't to know! An admin has hidden the clone trooper sergeants category that is on that userpage, so that userpage will no longer appear in the category, if you check the category you will no longer see it. Hopefully you understand what I mean! --Lewisr (talk) 22:34, June 12, 2020 (UTC)
- I'm guessing the user was just doing a write up of the Sinker page in their own workbench --Lewisr (talk) 22:45, June 12, 2020 (UTC)
- A workbench is just a private page that a user can use to work on their own projects, they just need to add one onto their profile, like you can see on User:DarthRuiz30 for example --Lewisr (talk) 22:58, June 12, 2020 (UTC)

Grand inquisitor lightsaber
Its a different saber, but it is the Grand Inquisitor's lightsaber as the book says --Lewisr (talk) 16:22, August 18, 2020 (UTC)
Adding quotes on references
When you're adding quotes around reference names, you seem to be adding fancy quotes, which break the reference system.
For example, your added quotes are: “Chapter 12” vs "Chapter 12". -- Sulfur (talk) 22:29, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
E-web
Sorry, totally forgot to reply to your message, generally weapons don't get included in the infobox Lewisr (talk) 01:51, 6 June 2021 (UTC)
- No worries! Btw don't forget to sign your comments, this needs to be done per the talk page policy. To do this you can either press (

Punctuation "mistakes"
Please note that the use of s' is not a mistake. Per this policy, articles can use either s' or s's, provided that the usage is consistent throughout the article, which is why I reverted some of your edits. OOM 224 ༼༽talk༼༽ 21:19, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
Apostrophes and quotes
Hello there! Thank you for your contributions to Wookieepedia! :) There's a bit of a snag that I'd like to point your attention to: you seem to be adding the "Microsoft"-type double quotes ” and single quotes (apostrophes) ’ when it should instead be regular quotes " and apostrophes '. This unfortunately causes issues when you're adding references onto articles: putting the "Microsoft" (or "smart") quotes around reference names, like
<ref name="RefName">...</ref>
causes those references to malfunction. The same goes for when you add single "smart" quotes while trying to italicize the names of works, like
<ref name="TFAVD">''[[Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Visual Dictionary]]''</ref>
it likewise doesn't work with the "smart" punctuation. I see you've already been reached out to on this very page about this a few years ago, so please take heed so that you don't unintentionally introduce page formatting breakage. Hope this helps, Imperators II(Talk) 12:49, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hey there! Please make sure you read the above messages - otherwise an administrator may temporarily revoke your editing privileges so as to prevent any further formatting errors from being introduced on articles. Imperators II(Talk) 06:43, 25 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hey there. As for punctuation, I'd imagine an iPad should have some sort of option to switch between the two sets of apostrophes and quotes, but as I don't own an iPad myself I can't really give you any specific advice on that. As for reference names, there are really no rules governing how exactly you should name the references, and editors' approach differs. Some people prefer to use full source names in reference names. I myself prefer to keep them shorter, most often just using a couple of words or even just initials. Hope that helps, and feel free to ask any further questions you may have. Re:Sources
Hey there! Hmm, I'm not exacly sure I understand what you're having difficulties with here? If it's a question of how to add references, I believe this should help with that. If it's a matter of "how does one know what source to reference a given bit of information to", well, it just involves checking the relevant sources and seeing if they contain the info in question. For example, on the light repeating blaster article, the sources listed under Appearances and Sources are a good place to start. If you're stumped because you don't have access to a particular source, you can always try hopping onto Wookieepedia's Discord server to see if other editors may be able to help you out with that. Hope that helps, Imperators II(Talk) 06:52, 31 May 2023 (UTC)
Signing edits
Hey there, I imagine one reason would be to not have to look through the various page's history to see who made such an edit because some pages could have hundreds of edits for example. It makes more sense to sign your comments for the sake of records I would imagine. I'm not sure if there are anymore reasons, but you're welcome to ask on the discord or the talk page of Wookieepedia:Signature policy if anyone else has more information if you so choose. Thanks!
