The Clone Wars
Hello. Firstly, I should point out that the Star Wars answers wiki has no affiliation with Wookieepedia, so we can't verify any information you get through there. For future reference, if you have questions, your best bet is to submit your questions through Wookieepedia's Senate Hall or come into our Chat channel. Now, to answer your question, Lucasfilm absolutely considers Star Wars: The Clone Wars to be official canon. However, Lucasfilm does not consider any of the Clone Wars spinoff material, such as comics and video games, to be canon. Only the Clone Wars film and television series are canon. That's an important distinction to make, and that is why you will find many Clone Wars-related article subjects organized under the Legends banner. For Wookieepedia's purposes, we have decided to split subjects from The Clone Wars into both Canon and Legends articles. So, for example, Ahsoka Tano now has two articles: one for Canon and one for Legends. The Canon article covers only her appearances in the Clone Wars film and TV series, while her Legends article covers her appearances in the Clone Wars film, TV, series, as well as all the Clone Wars spinoff material. Hope that helps. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 00:22, January 18, 2015 (UTC)
- Also, regarding the fact that many Clone Wars subjects have both a Canon and a Legends article, the reason is this - many of them also had significant roles within the Legends continuity and so we need articles that reference the full details and also link to other Legends articles. So, for example, a Legends Clone Wars article would reference Anakin Skywalker and would link to his Legends article, which provides the full history of Anakin within Legends, while the Canon article will link to the Canon Anakin article, which contains only Canon information.
