Images

Bigger size does not equal better quality. The large Japanese covers you are uploaded from TFN are extremely grainy and speckled. Infobox images

If you add an infobox to a page, and the main image input is less than 250px wide, please put the image width exactly and not stretch it. Hi, I noticed you put Dramatis personae section in the upcoming Order 66: A Republic Commando Novel. I would like to know what are your sources. Do you have already the book? Interesting. Because I was approached with the same request earlier and when I asked "Does Wikipedia count as a source?", the answer was "Probably not" (3 sections above). Seriously, that image has no weblink and no source other than self-made. If wikipedia cannot be a source, could you please explain what exactly should I do except for providing GNU tag? Also please note that I always follow policy on images with clear and obvious sources. But wiki-images are a different case and I was not enlightened on that matter before. • Furthermore, do not place deletion tags on images less than twenty seconds after they are uploaded. File:Virtus.jpg may very well have been a user image, which we are free to upload. I am well aware that I'm not an admin and now I see that I was wrong in that particular case. I didn't notice that image was just uploaded and decided that it was simply unused fanart image. If it really ended up on a userpage, the request for deletion wouldn't be carried out anyway. Again, please note that I tagged with IFD tag many unused and duplicate images before and as far as I remember, all of them were indeed rightfully deleted. Mauser 01:12, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

• Actually, no, there have been a couple of instances where I came in and removed the deletion tags from image summaries upon further investigation. You're not the only user involved in the tagging spree to which I refer, but your name has come up more than once for me when I either had to undelete something I'd deleted or check the usage before making deletion decisions. As far as Wikipedia images go, sourcing and licensing them here the way they are sourced and licensed there is best, as well as mentioning the source for the image on this wiki (i.e. mention where it's from and that you also snagged it from Wikipedia). While I appreciate you taking the time to leave me the msg's on my talk page, I'm still going to hold off until I leave Afghanistan and I can a) buy the book, and b) edit on a stable Internet connection. Also, unlike what you claim by saying that I'm going to "resolve the matter single-handedly," that's completely wrong, otherwise I wouldn't have been talking with various others about it, reading talk pages, and whatnot. Also, unlike you claim, I'm fully aware of the issue's surrounding it's FA status, mainly because a) I'm an Inq and read the meeting pages, and b) I'm the one who originally wrote the article for GA, helped Imp take it to FA, and then re-wrote/expanded it when it's FA status was removed thus gaining it's FA star again. Likewise, once I have the book in my hands, or at least a .pdf copy of it, and can verify stuff for myself, including Abel's comments, then I'll discuss (as I've been doing) with many others (again, not resolving anything single-handedly) and go from there. Merchandising

Well, I have a combination of reasons. The first is that that CT calls for non-redundant merchandising info to be placed in the BTS. That's fine, but it doesn't actually outlaw putting a toy line in a sources list. The second is that these toy lines all have valuable canon information of one sort or another that was not "revealed," or realized at that time, apparently. Thirdly, in no way to I intend for this to introduce merchandising to every article, as was the problem at the time of that CT. This is merely so authors and readers have another source (which, on occasion, has even created new continuity information) with which to cite, as opposed to the wildly incoherent and inconsistent sourcing that has gone on when there has been a piece of valuable information coming from merchandise. Just look at it as the same kind of source as a sourcebook or an essential guide, and forget that there's a toy involved. Thefourdotelipsis 11:43, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

Re: Naming conventions page

I wouldn't just go through there and start rewording anything, no, as poor as that page is put together. While that page indicates the naming conventions aren't exactly policy, one could certainly argue that a strong enough precedent exists for our naming conventions to make some of that policy.   • There is a problem then. By using the automatically generated number lists by using the number symbol, every time you insert an image amongst the list, the card #'s restart at 1. Therefore, I'm thinking the best way to ensure the card numbers stay accurate is to manually type out the numbers manually and use the < br > code to separate the lines. Unverified information

Do not add unverified, unsourced information to Wookieepedia. No source ever claims that every officer aboard the Executor's bridge died at Endor. If you can't source this information, do not add it - this practice is akin to adding fanon. I shouldn't have to tell you not to continue doing such a thing. The only one of the new RPG sourcebooks that I've got is the Knights of the Old Republic campaign guide, and I had noticed that it didn't list the length of ships in with the stats like the old West End Games books did, but it did list them in the descriptive text. I see you removed "Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Campaign Guide" from the list as sources, but I have that book in particular in front of me right now- it contains information on Shotos, as does the Core Rulebook. • • The majority of the information on Shoto Sabers is in the Core Edition Rulebook, and there is a information on Guard Shoto/Tonfa Sabers in The Force Unleashed campaign guide. The information on Short Sabers present in the KOTOR Saga Edition rulebooks is referencing Vandar Tokare's use of one. Is it practice to include any book that includes shoto sabers at all, or just major information? If it's major information, could we include the Core Edition Rulebook?

On a completely unrelated note, can Maris Brood's image of Guard Shoto be moved to the actual Guard Shoto section, it's bothered me for some time and I don't know how to move images... It does not identify Jahnar-Kooda as a Herglic, but unless I missed something, neither does the comic he appears briefly in. Speculation

Hello, Mauser. Thank you for adding the information from the KotOR Campaign Guide to Manaan. I have not had the chance to get through it yet. I do ask, however, that you be careful not to add speculation to the articles. Statements, even in the BtS, such as "may be" or "presumably" are most likely speculation or original research. Stating that Manaan: Depths of History is presumably incorrect may or may not be true. We will not know until a definitive answer comes with the Essential Atlas. That said, we also do not know what LFL has in their holocron. So, M:DoH might be correct and the others incorrect. • Copying and pasting from an official site would be very good reason to edited it, especially since it had so many grammatical and a few spelling errors. Also, a Clone Wars plot summary is considered in-universe when written within an out-of-universe article, whereas "if any section in the article is not, such as the listing of a character's published appearances or behind the scenes details", it is written OOU. Please avoid replacing Appearance lists with "All works in the Star Wars saga" type of descriptions. The Force, as a matter of fact, does not appear in each work of the Star Wars saga.
