Welcome, LostCampbell!Hello and welcome to Wookieepedia. I hope you like the place and choose to join our work. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
Wookieepedia aspires to be a reliable source for all Star Wars fans to read and draw information from, and as such, fan-created continuity and fan fiction are not allowed within our articles. All in-universe material must be attributable to a reliable, published source. Do not remove talk page and forum comments, including your own, as they are part of the public record. Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~. For an optimal viewing experience, Wookieepedia recommends using the Monobook skin. For help changing your skin preference, see Help:Skin. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wookieepedian! If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the Senate Hall, visit our official IRC channel, or ask me on my talk page. May the Force be with you! —Trip391 (talk) 22:00, October 24, 2013 (UTC) |
Vespid
Thank you for contributing to Wookieepedia! Please note that at least one of your recent additions added unverified information to a mainspace article. Additions to Wookieepedia's articles must be verifiable by a reliable source per our sourcing policy, and unverified information may be reverted or deleted. Continuing to add unverified or outright false information may lead to you being blocked from editing by an administrator. Thank you. Trip391 (talk) 22:00, October 24, 2013 (UTC)
- Again, if something is not explicitly stated in a source, then don't put it in an article. Nowhere in The Cestus Deception or The Hive does it mention the vespids. And in Dark Nest, it only refers to the Huk, aka the Yam'rii, as being vespids. As that was already stated in the edit summary, I don't see how it can be any more specific than that? - All that is what is called original research, and unless a reliable source actually states something, it does not belong on Wookieepedia. Comparing the OOU definitions of vespid and mantid is not a reliable source. Trip391 (talk) 18:40, October 25, 2013 (UTC)
- Allow me to repeat Trip's warnings. Continuing to add information without a verifiable source will result in administrative action. Cade

- So just to be clear, the dictionary definition of a word is not considered a reliable source. I read the link, and it was very detailed as what was not a reliable source, but failed to provide, (or at least I failed to see), an explanation to what is a "Reliable Source." I would think that basic taxonomical definitions would be given, easily verifiable, and beyond dispute. Apparently, I thought wrong. I will be more diligent in my edits to conform to your standards.--LostCampbell (talk) 19:01, October 25, 2013 (UTC)
Signing comments
Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wookieepedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button
located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! Trip391 (talk) 17:44, October 25, 2013 (UTC)
