Lightsaber forms

Okay, that deserved a response. First, the most important part of a lightsaber duel is the experience/ability of the duelists. For example, Dooku's Form II was able to break through Anakin's Form V Shien on Geonosis, but was unable to do so on board the Invisible Hand, where Anakin's Djem So mastery had progressed enough to beat Dooku alone. Second, Ataru embraces the concept of fast, mobile strikes, whereas Djem So utilizes constant straightforward, powerful attacks. As long as a master of Ataru does not get cornered where he cannot move, he can use evasive tactics to avoid the Djem So practitioner's blade and use his mobility to get in a crippling strike on an arm or leg- not enough to kill usually, but enough to make a killing stroke possible. If the Djem So practitioner abandons Djem So to chase down the Ataru master, it will become an Ataru vs. Ataru match- which the Ataru practitioner should win. Second, that depends on the environment. In the confines of the Theed power complex, Qui-Gon's Ataru was at a disadvantage- and he was old. In the wide areas of the Senate chambers, Yoda put his use of Ataru to good use, although that battle was more Force-based than anything else. Both forms require a great deal of energy, but the Ataru master could also use his superior agility to flee if necessary. He who lives and runs away lives to fight another day. Basically, hit and run. In a straight fight on a walkway, Djem So has a pretty good chance against Ataru- but that's only if the Ataru master is not moving and actually goes power vs. power against Djem So- not a good idea. Of course, a Vaapad master could probably toast either one. If you don't like the length of the post, you should not ask for it. Atarumaster88 18:32, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Honestly, I think any form except I or VI could be really good. For the ultimate-most-butt-kicking-uber form though, I'd say Vaapad hands-down, although there are some dangers associated with it- like all but one user ended up falling to the dark side. I still personally prefer Ataru though for its sheer speed, mobility, and the ability to get in a first hit quickly enough that the fight can be ended quickly.Atarumaster88 23:06, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
