Welcome, CJSFan!Hello and welcome to Wookieepedia. I hope you like the place and choose to join our work. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
Wookieepedia aspires to be a reliable source for all Star Wars fans to read and draw information from, and as such, fan-created continuity and fan fiction are not allowed within our articles. All in-universe material must be attributable to a reliable, published source. Please do not remove talk page and forum comments, as they are part of the public record. Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wookieepedian! If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the Senate Hall, visit our official IRC channel, or ask one of our administrators. May the Force be with you! |
Signature policy.
Hello there, J Fan! Heads up that your current votes will be struck from the Character of the Year vote because your signature doesn't follow Wookieepedia:Signature policy. You need to modify it so that your username is not altered--so not changed to say "CJSFan" instead of "J Fan". The font size needs to be unaltered, so please remove the use of <big>. Finally, off-wiki links aren't permitted (so you need to remove the "Arkham City" link), but you can have one link here on Wookieepedia--you can leave your "On Stranger Tides" link for your talk page just as it is. Sorry for the inconvenience! Immi Thrax

Re:"We want you" image
I would be more than happy to make one for you! Did you want one exactly like the Vader one? I was able to cook one up real quick with the Jack image and a different color and font for the bottom. If you want to DM me on Discord (you even meet the requirements to be fully verified on our server!), I can send you over images as we fine-tune. MasterFred(talk) (he/him) 11:58, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
Referencing
Thank you for contributing to Wookieepedia! Please note that your edit to Bob Anderson added unverified information to a mainspace article. Additions to Wookieepedia's articles must be verifiable by a reliable source per our sourcing policy, and unverified information may be reverted or deleted. If you would like some help learning how to properly source additions, you can see this tutorial or ask for assistance in our Discord server. Thanks! Destiny
Hey! Thanks for letting me know, I guess if you were going to make it then the move is warranted Lewisr (talk) 21:11, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
- You might find that the page may be put for a Forum:Trash compactor vote if another user might find the page unnecessary to have, just letting you know as a hands up, but I don't believe there has been a past vote to mean such pages shouldn't be made. Thank you and happy editing to you too! Lewisr (talk) 21:23, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
Signature
Greetings. Just to let you know, your signature doesn't comply with Wookieepedia's signature policy rules so your votes on Character of the Year 2023 will be deemed ineligible, per the contest rules. If you want to work on your signature, don't hesitate to ask for help from either myself or other Wookieepedians! Cheers, OOM 224 (he/him) 15:05, 18 December 2023 (UTC)
Template:Surname and others of the like
Hey there! Hmm I'm not aware of such a template for instances where we only know an individuals first name. I haven't really given it much thought before in all honesty, but you're welcome to see what other users of the site think by raising the topic in the Forum:Senate Hall if you wanted to do so Lewisr (talk) 20:26, 16 January 2024 (UTC)
Unverified and web citations
Hi J Fan. After reviewing your recent edit on Joe Books Ltd, I wanted to give you a quick reminder that 1) you should never add information that is not supported with a reference, per our sourcing policy, and 2) when you provide a link, you should always provide an archival link instead of a barelink, another requirement of our sourcing policy, and preferably using an Internet citation templates. If you have further questions about our referencing practice, please leave a message on my talk page. NanoLuukeCloning Facility 12:26, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- Simply put, just don't add information that you cannot references. Adding an information with the fact template isn't a correct practice. Yes, you might encounter that sometimes, but it's to pin-point information from old articles, from a time when sourcing/referencing rules where not as strongly enforced as today, and thus we tag them with "fact" for future research/confirmation, but it's definitely not something we allow with new edits. Re: Image screencapping
Hey there, J Fan! I've responded to your question on Discord! Hope all is well with you too and cheers! Bonzane10 (holonet) 03:28, 11 April 2024 (UTC)
RE: Template:'s question
Hiya! Yes, you've got it right; the template is intended to be used wherever it's needed, including within quote templates. The purpose is to prevent apostrophe symbols from confusing the wikicode for italics and bolded text, since they use the same apostrophe symbol.
Also, if I may, I just want to take the opportunity to ask that you change your signature in line with the new Wookieepedia:Signature policy: "include text that exactly matches your Fandom username, with the same characters in the same order" and "include no more than one other link, such as to your talk page, contributions, etc. The link must be an internal link to an existing Wookieepedia page." Thank you for your understanding. OOM 224 (he/him) 10:47, 19 May 2024 (UTC)
Re:Personal photos
Oh, good question! We actually have an example of this here. If you follow that example, you should be good to go. :) Master Fredcerique(talk) (he/him) 20:42, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
Re:Studio Backlot Tour
Hey! Regarding the Studio Backlot Tour, I've mentioned my reasoning for the deletion. You can refer to Wookieepedia:Copyrights for more info on it as we do not condone plagiarism at all. Aside from the introduction, there were also multiple plagiarism found in the article body. Additionally, the reference were all lacking the required archival input. I highly suggest for you to write from scratch for every contribution in the future, though using existing articles as an inspiration or guide for your writing is fine. For the notability on the Studio Backlot Tour itself, to my knowledge, the attraction only had some elements of Star Wars but not entirely themed around it, so I dont think it's something we'd cover on here. As you can see that the attractions or booths we have up are all entirely designed to be based on Star Wars. Happy editing and cheers! Bonzane10

- Hey there. Sorry for the late response. I was unaware of CinéMagique, but since that is precedence, I don't see why not against it's coverage. Though do keep in mind to not plagiarize. Happy editing and cheers! Bonzane10

Editing templates
Heya. If editing templates to add parameters, please either leave a bot request for it to be added to the necessary pages or do so yourself. Not doing so results in glaring red errors on every page it wasn't added to, which in some cases, can be in the hundreds depending on heavily the template is used.—spookywillowwtalk 15:10, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, Lewisr went and fixed them in this case since the errors were showing, so he's the one to thank for that. But still, indeed, to leave a request for the future and not rely on others to necessarily do, as can be quite pagebreaking depending on how many it affects. In this case, it was small enough for him to do.—spookywillowwtalk 20:16, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
