Talk pages

Battle of Christophsis

You don't change sourced information if featured articles. If you have a problem with the factual accuracy of the article, contact the person who nominated the article for the status or use the article talk page. Thank you for your cooperation. 1358 (Talk) 17:12, January 14, 2011 (UTC)

  • Apparently you didn't click the reference (the small number) attached to the fact that the 327th was present. In addition, your assumption that the 212th participated in the battle is not sufficient; you will going to need a source for that. 1358 (Talk) 17:39, January 14, 2011 (UTC)
  • If you find a source literally stating that they participated, then fine. I would also appreciate if you would sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). Thanks. 1358 (Talk) 18:33, January 14, 2011 (UTC)
  • No, do not remove 327th from the article; that fact is sourced. Thanks. 1358 (Talk) 18:36, January 14, 2011 (UTC)
  • If you go to that fact, you will see that a number is attached to it, like [25]. If you click on that number, you will end up in the notes and the references section in the bottom of the page. There, you will see from what source the information comes. WizardsoftheCoast 25 to Rescue on Wizards.com (backup link) (original site is defunct) seems to be the source for 327th's participation in this case. 1358 (Talk) 19:02, January 14, 2011 (UTC)
  • See Jinzler's clarification on my talk page. 1358 (Talk) 19:55, January 14, 2011 (UTC)

Re: third battle of kamino

Yes, the information should be included, but with all due respect, the quality of this edit was below our standards. 1358 (Talk) 20:43, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Recent uploads

Hey, friend. I want to thank you for the zeal you've shown in the last few days regarding the Clone Wars Magazine. It is definitely a subject that we are lacking. I can definitely see that you can be useful. However, I wanted to give you a few tips regarding your uploads:

  1. Try to have a use in mind for an image before you upload it. Your magazine covers are being used very well, but it doesn't look like your posters are going to be used in an article. Unused images will be deleted automatically after one week, so if you can't figure out a good use for an image, don't worry too much. But at the same time, don't get carried away.
  2. I won't lie, Wookieepedia gets a lot of images from scans. But for magazine covers, there's almost always an official version floating around on StarWars.com. Just use the search feature there, and use the official version wherever possible, even if you feel your scan is "bigger" or "better." Copyright law is... delicate, and Wookieepedia tries to avoid breaking it when and where it can.
  3. If you can find a good use for an image and you can't get a perfectly legal promotional shot from a licensed source, try to make sure your scans don't look like scans. Use an image program like MSPaint (or something more advanced) to crop an image down to just what is needed. Some of your recent uploads have extra margins of empty space, as well as "margins" that show the edges of other pages. And try not to put "scan" in the filename.
  4. Images with logos or titles should almost never be used in an In-universe article (Like an article on Ahsoka). They should be limited to out-of-universe articles (like Clone Wars Magazine, or comics, or articles about magazine articles)
  5. You only need a source, a license, and a description for uploads. Don't put "unknown" if you don't know any of the other fields.
  6. Categories are an important part of Wookieepedia's organization. I can help you with a few of these, but I'd like you to look at some of the other images at Special:NewFiles to see if you can learn a little about how they work. Categories work on articles, too, and I will add a few to your Clone Wars Magazine articles.

I'm sure you're tired of hearing this, but a few of your uploads border on poor quality. If you follow the tips above, it'll help keep the quality up and the admins' ire down. If you need any other tips, particularly regarding image uploads, you can ask me at my talkpage. The user JMAS is also a proficient image uploader, and may be able to answer you questions, too. In fact, he's much better at technical stuff, like imaging programs and how to get the best quality scans. Darth Culator is an admin, and is usually fairly grumpy, but he might (occasionally) be willing to help you with a few images. Just note that Culator is equally likely to just delete an image if the quality is well below standards. SinisterSamurai 20:52, February 2, 2011 (UTC)

Grievous

Please stop making low-quality additions to his article. If you edit this encyclopedia, you are expected to heed the basic rules of the English language. Thank you. 1358 (Talk) 14:30, February 3, 2011 (UTC)

  • This was a low-quality addition. CC-3636 is a featured article, so eventual additions needs to be accepted by the nominator, CC7567, first. And Plo Koon already has enough images; adding more would mess up with formatting. 1358 (Talk) 16:36, February 3, 2011 (UTC)
    • Something needs to be clarified here. No one individual Wookieepedian "owns" an article. Whether they have taken the article to FA/GA/CA status is irrelevant. If another user wants to make an edit to an article that is marked as FA, they may do so. They do not need to get the nominators permission. The nominators work is not sacrosanct. That being said, the edit does need to maintain or improve the quality of the FA, not detract from it. If your edit was low quality (whether that be a low quality image, bad grammar, or page formatting) then it was rightfully reverted. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 16:50, February 3, 2011 (UTC)
      • Either way, there was no room for another image in CC-3636. 1358 (Talk) 16:55, February 3, 2011 (UTC)
