Wookiees-Transparent

Wookieepedia aspires to be a reliable source for all Star Wars fans to read and draw information from, and as such, fan-created continuity and fan fiction are not allowed within our articles. All in-universe material must be attributable to a reliable, published source.

Please do not remove talk page and forum comments, as they are part of the public record. Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wookieepedian! If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the Senate Hall, visit our official IRC channel, or ask one of our administrators. May the Force be with you!

Redlinks

Redlinks should not be removed from articles. Rather, they should be created. Please keep this in mind when editing in the future. Grand Moff Tranner Imperial Department of Military Research (Comlink) 15:38, October 12, 2009 (UTC)

Warning

You are obviously using Wookieepedia articles as sources, instead of the actual media itself. This is strictly prohibited, you must be familiar with the content first-hand to edit articles on that subject. MauserComlink 13:47, October 15, 2009 (UTC)

I was not intending to make a random article out of scratch. Those articles were redlinks found in Ewoks, and I just wanted to make them blue in order to remove the related template from the top of that page. I know I didn't have the necessary info to create those articles, but that is not what I had in mind. I believe that a stub template would do the job since the info I had was not enough. - JEA13 [iTalk] 13:55, October 15, 2009 (UTC)
It is more than creating a handful of articles with little to no info that it is required to remove the redlinks. Seriously, what use to our readers would be an article that states: "X appears in Ewoks. I haven't seen it, so I don't know what exactly it is, but it does appear there, because some user left a redlink on that page." ? MauserComlink 14:01, October 15, 2009 (UTC)
That is why I am telling you that a stub template would be useful, it would render the article unfinished, thus not making visitors believe the wiki is not providing the requested info. Out of this, I don't believe that the creator of an article is the only one who may donate info to it. - JEA13 [iTalk] 14:07, October 15, 2009 (UTC)
A stub is an article that is lacks some information, not the article that lacks any information. The latter is pretty useless. And also, why currently the template tell the readers that the wiki is lacking the info, you want to create content-free articles only to remove the template. However, in this case the wiki will still lack the info. Point? MauserComlink 14:27, October 15, 2009 (UTC)
If nobody else out of me could add info to those pages, there is no point. Firstly, I was thinking about removing the red links by creating the pages and letting anybody else who had more info improve them. There don't seem to be a lot of users who notice/care about creating red links, even if they have the info that would make them normal articles. If the pages existed, they would stumble upon them and improve them. That is my point. - JEA13 [iTalk] 14:36, October 15, 2009 (UTC)
Well there are articles that state "N was a planet." and a source and that's it. -- Riffsyphon1024 14:38, October 15, 2009 (UTC)
There is a difference between "N was a planet, here's the source" and "X was something, but I don't know what, cause I've never seen that episode". And regardless of that, you should not use Wookieepedia articles as sources without checking the original story. MauserComlink 14:43, October 15, 2009 (UTC)
I could just delete the "I don't know.....episode" part and that would be fine, since Riffsyphon states that there are akin articles. It's not like anyone visits those articles anyway. And one could also remove the links completely, since other things mentioned on the appearances list of the Star Wars: Ewoks page do not have links at all. - JEA13 [iTalk] 14:50, October 15, 2009 (UTC)

Jundland Waste sandbox

Please do not modify or revert others' edits in the sandbox. Seeing that they are legitimate, and only test edits that do not violate any policy, I recommend that you stop. JangFett (Talk) 18:57, October 20, 2009 (UTC)

  • No, I wasn't causing offence :) The sandbox is supposed to be cleaned once in a while and reverting is a quick way to do so, that's it. - JEA13 [iTalk] 19:01, October 20, 2009 (UTC)
    • It should not be cleaned after a test edit. I would recommend that you leave the clearing of the sandbox to the administrators, since they normally do it. JangFett (Talk) 19:05, October 20, 2009 (UTC)
      • Well, ok... I'll keep that in mind. - JEA13 [iTalk] 19:07, October 20, 2009 (UTC)
