Wookieepedia is the Star Wars encyclopedia that anyone can edit, but we are not a general Star Wars forum nor an all-inclusive trivia site.
In-universe articles are written in past tense and from a neutral point of view. Our Manual of Style and Layout Guide form the basis for writing on Wookieepedia.
All additions to Wookieepedia must be sourced and attributed to a reliable, official source. Fan fiction is welcome on the Star Wars Fanon Wiki.
As a registered Wookieepedia user, you are entitled to a user page and a unique signature. Eventually you will also gain the right to vote on community matters.
Remember to be nice to your fellow Wookieepedians. Avoid making personal attacks and engaging in edit wars. Using multiple accounts is not allowed.
Talk pages and forums are part of the public record and comments on them, including your own user talk page, should be left intact. Remember to sign your comments by typing four tildes, like this: ~~~~

New to wikis? Don't worry, we were all new once. Our help pages will get you started, and the Jundland Wastes sandbox can be used for test edits. Don't be afraid to make mistakes—be bold!

Backup links

Hi, thanks for adding backup links to articles. It would be greatly appreciated if you could add the links to central repository so that a bot can fix all instances of those links. If you need more assistance, feel free to leave me a message. Thanks. UberSoldat93 (talk) 17:20, August 7, 2020 (UTC)

A few things:

It is preferred to list URLs without the slash at the end.
For {{WebCite}}, you have to follow the template page correctly. All parameters must be listed in order and formatted correctly.
Some templates such as {{Twitter}} only require the number within the archived URL to function (e.g. instead of putting "https://web.archive.org/web/20200611093708/https://twitter.com/cavanscott/status/1270799738439372802" in "backup", you only need to add "20200611093708" to the "archivedate" parameter).
