My Zekka Thyne featured page nomination

Hey, my name's Colin. I've been working very hard on the Zekka Thyne page for a featured article nomination, and as of right now, I've added all the pics and info I can get my hands on, read and reported on all the material the character is featured in, and addressed almost every concern that's been voiced.

The only thing that hasn't been addressed is that the article is lacking specific information about the Star Wars Galaxies missions Zekka assigns. Unfortunately, I can't find that information anywhere online, and since I haven't had a SWG account in years, I can't log on and find it myself. I'm hoping somebody will add that eventually, but in the grand scheme of things, I think it's pretty minor information, and would argue it shouldn't hold up its nomination.

I've been told the nomination has potential but doesn't have the votes, and that I should ask some people to review it for me. (I haven't actively asked people yet; I've never really gone through this process before.) I was hoping maybe you'd take a look at it and see if it's worthy of a vote from you? Or give me any further suggestions? I'd really appreciate it!

  • Sorry, but the Galaxies info still needs to be included per rule 9 ("have significant information from all sources and appearances, especially a biography for character articles").       • The Battle of Mygeeto page lists that the battle takes place in 0 ABY, shortly after the Fifth Battle of Yavin IV, which is seemingly incorrect considering that Piett leads the fleet, and also the involvement of TIE Interceptors, A-wings, and B-wings this early in the war. Award idea

I think we should have the "Master and Apprentice award" for helping new Wookieepedians learn the ropes here. I would like a picture of Obi-Wan and Anakin or Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon to be on the award. The text should read: I, (presenter) do award (receiver) the Master and Apprentice award for helping (Assisted User). The receiving user should tell and the user they assisted should confirm. Is there any way that you could unblock User:GreenDragon, which is my original user name blocked infinitely by User:Darth Culator?

I will only contribute to your Talk page and my own, hopefully as we can get some meaningful dialogue across. While this request is pending, I will not edit any other articles as that would be sock puppetry.

Yes, I did get the infinite block because I missed User:Darth Culator's warnings on "Nova Wing" in the Missile Boat article...that was my mistake as I was informed a couple weeks ago that it was not an official name. I have also realized how serious your policy on "no fanon" is, so I've stayed away from TIE Defender after my first block.

Aside from "Nova Wing", which I will not reinstate, I can find sources for my additions to Missile Boat, to prove that it is not fanon. Notably as the Missile Boat did clear Type C mines during the attack on Tarrak's TIE Defender factory, that a training mission for the Missile Boat did teach the pilot how to defend a craft from warheads and destroy a station's anti-warhead defense, and that the flight officer advised the pilot to use advanced missiles as rockets during the Missile Boat's first deployment in capturing the Nami Strike Cruiser Nuance etc.

I would like to work with you to make sure that my contributions can be implemented, all without upsetting the article's FA status.

My criticism of User:Darth Culator is that I believe he acted in too quick a manner, without giving me any true warning. If I am wrong, please correct me.

Zekka Thyne

Hey. I talked to you a while back about my Zekka Thyne featured page. At the time, it couldn't make it to FA status because I couldn't get the SWG information, but now I've been advised to change the SWG Thyne into a different page, since it is an altogether different species. I've done that, cleaned up the page and renominated it and so far, there are no objections to the nomination that haven't been addressed. Perhaps you wouldn't mind considering the FA nomination again?

Help with pics!

I have a problem. I made a picture by myself to put on my user page. However, in my picture, I have the Lowe's logo that I got from Wikipedia and shrunk it down to fit in a certain part. Would it violate copyright laws to upload this picture? Fisto johnson larry 21:27, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey, GT. I've set up a private administrator mailing list to help coordinate the current administrators of the site, and I am attempting to contact each administrator to get them to subscribe. You can subscribe here. My point with setting up this mailing list to get all of the administrators of Wookieepedia operating on the same page, and in a more unified fashion. Regardless of any personal differences that may exist between some members, I still feel that it is important that we are all operating on the same level, with regards to knowledge of the site, and new/upcoming stuff that is going to happen—so, basically, this is an attempt to coordinate us all in an effort to help keep us on the same page with regards to new policies, new ideas, announcements, discussions, etc. In my opinion, we're all on the same team and this will only help us to be a more organized and cohesive working unit—even more so than we currently are. I've already spoken with a few admins via IRC, and they have liked my point of this whole thing, and have thus signed up—I would really appreciate it you could do likewise :) Any questions about this, you know where you can reach me. Kylaena

Hi, i have encounter a bit of a problem creating a new article. I wanted to created one for a new Star Wars Galaxies character called Kylaena, who is a Twi'lek. I found out that there was already an article for another SWG character called Kylaena, a human, but I did some research and found that the human Kylaena was actually called Kylaena Hayley, so I moved the article to that. However "Kylaena" redirects to that article, so I have created an article for the Twi'lek Kylaena under the temporary name [[Kylaena X]], until this problem can be resolved. --Tom rules 14:06, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Star Wars Merchandise

Hi! Geoffrey Carlton, who wrote the Star Wars Super Collector's Wish Book, posted a wiki request yesterday for a wiki about Star Wars merchandise. He says: "Star Wars collecting has gotten so large, that the data no longer fits in a book. I'd like to begin compiling the information online and give the collecting community a chance to benefit from it and contribute to the documentation of new (and incomplete entry) items as they are 'discovered'."

We've directed him to the existing Star Wars Merchandise wiki, and today he's started making a couple contributions. He sent me an e-mail asking if he could be made an admin there. If it was just up to me, I'd be inclined to do it, since he's expressed an interest in adding a lot to the site. But, obviously, I want to check in with you and any other admins that you think should be in on the discussion.

And on a related note... Do you think there's any chance of merging the two wikis? It's a shame that the Merchandise wiki is mostly left on its own, while Wookieepedia is one of the most active communities on Wikia. If they were put together, then there'd be more pairs of eyes looking at the merchandise articles, to make sure that they're accurate and complete. I'll raise it with the other Merchandise wiki admins on IRC when I see them next. As for merging, the Merchandise wiki was created to keep merchandise topics off Wookieepedia, so I doubt there'd be much support. Having said that, I'll ask around and get back to you. I've spoken to a few Wookieepedia admins and there's no support for a merger. I also asked Jorrel Fraajic and Jack Phoenix, and both said they wouldn't be averse to making him an admin, but would like to see some more contributions from him first.
