Re: Great Jedi Purge redirects

This is actually intentional. If you look at the recent changes with bots shown you'll see that EcksBot is currently performing a conversion from /Canon. The first step of this process involves moving Legends articles to /Legends and changing Legends links to point to the new names. Usually EcksBot handles the page moves as well (see the move log) but in this case, "Great Jedi Purge" was move-protected so I had to move it manually. Once EcksBot finishes the first step of the link switching, current /Canon pages) will get moved and links adjusted accordingly. Clone trooper appearances

Hey! I did a removal a while back of all the appearances post ROTS since at the point that Palpatine declares the Empire, the clone troopers are actually considered stormtroopers. After that point, we should only add instances where clone troopers were mentioned (as in the idea of clone troopers, not specific clones), rather than including instances of where clones appear. Rex/Gregor/Wolffe aren't really clone troopers anymore by the time of Rebels if you think about, so including it as an appearance wouldn't make sense, think of it as a retired stormtrooper appearing in a story 20 years after the end of the Empire, they're no longer a stormtrooper, so we wouldn't add it unless stormtrooper was mentioned in that source. As for clone trooper armor/items, rather than counting it as an appearance for clone troopers it would be best to just put it on the clone armor page or whatever it is. Verify vs. Citation

Hey! Verify is used when a page has no appearance/source, and the citation tag is used for when parts of an article need to be sourced properly. The fact and citation tags are generally for the same thing. In that case you're talking about, it'd be best to use the citation tag, as it has sources/appearances which solves the verify tag and is in need of citation. Re: Capital ships

You don't necessarily need to go around blanket-removing lists, particularly if they're sourced, but I would advise against creating new ones at least. Yes sorry I didn't link it prior but as you can see in the layout guide, it should be *Galactic Empire **Stormtrooper Corps, or whatever you feel best serves the character on the 2nd bullet point in that particular case!   • Look, I'll be frank with you. It has nothing to do with how it makes you feel or how independent you think it makes you, and everything to do with you clogging up the Recent Changes with your edits that way. When a bot adds missing infobox parameters, it makes edits that are automatically flagged as "bot edits" and that are therefore hidden by default from Recent Changes and can be hidden in users' Watchlist. If you do it yourself, your edits are not being flagged as such, and as a result uselessly take up a huge portion of those edit-lists. The aforementioned effect also interferes with the efficient work of the Recent Changes patrollers. So I hope you now understand the reason why I'm asking you to please leave up to the bots edits than can be carried out by a bot. Thank you. Imperators II(Talk) 22:23, May 25, 2020 (UTC)

Company

No its okay, I can see why you added them! Was just writing to explain the removals, but seems you beat me to it! In the case of Twilight Company/Sixty-First Mobile Infantry, only the Sixty First name is mentioned in the Rogue One novel/audiobook and Shadow Fall, so that wouldn't count as a company mentioned. And with Company 77, although their name is still company 77, they aren't really a First Order company anymore so we should only include it if company was mentioned (I'll have to check and will re add if it was mentioned). I believe with Ghost Company we should probably only include Boil's mention on the armor and clone trooper armor, will remove those two episodes from the Ghost Companies page. In general I would be careful with adding Mentioned only mentions to pages based on what another page says, always best to check if said thing was mentioned, or feel free to ask if you don't have that particular book/comic etc! --Lewisr (talk) 01:39, May 28, 2020 (UTC)

  • The layout guide will help, but but generally its TCW episode guides upto S6, then old databank entries, then any new canon source in release date order, and then finally the new databank entries.     • Those are the same as any new canon source like Ultimate Star Wars, New Edition, they go in order of when they were published.     • I would personally only add them to individual people/droids that are mentioned in the infobox. Hey! I think it looks great! I'd make a few minor changes, however. I think that the Starship lines section isn't necessary, and that they can go into their respective size classes. I would also get rid of the ship designation following the class name. So for example, the Star Dreadnought section would look something like this: Assertor-class · Executor-class (Executor I-class · Executor II-class) I would also arrange the order from top to down as Space station, Star Dreadnought, Star Destroyers, Frigates and Carriers, Cruisers and Corvettes, Transports, Other. CA guide

Ok so, purging clears the page's cache, it doesn't affect the article's contents. You can just refresh the page after creating the nomination page and placing it on the CAN page. After the nomination template is updated, the template will link the nomination page. It's quite a simple process so there's nothing to worry about.

However, I am concerned about your article of choice, Star Dreadnought. Are you sure you linked the correct article? Because this is a class of ships that is pretty unstable in terms of appearances, and so is not really suitable for a nomination. This is an absolutely ridiculous warning to issue to someone given the circumstances. That user in question has made exactly two edits to his user page in the last two months. While Wookieepedia's User page policy does state that a user page should not be someone's primary contributions to Wookieepedia, it also explicitly encourages users to develop their user page, which this user was in the process of doing. You have convinced me with this little stunt that you have neither the experience nor the proper understanding to know how or when to issue warnings and threats of blocks for Wookieepedia's more complex policies.
