Jedi Code/Legends delete
I left a message on your talk page explaining my stupid mistake. Sorry again!
Re:Post–Great Hyperspace War counterinvasion
Hullo, sorry I failed to reply until now, was busy for a week. I reverted your edit because it looked to me to violate neutrality; i.e. taking a particular stance on the invasions as opposed to representing what happened according to official licensed source material. If the article was missing information regarding why the Jedi destroyed relics of the Sith, then yes I agree that should be rectified, but reframing the article to lead the reader to a conclusion should not be done. Hope that helps and sorry again I did not get to answering this until now! Fan26 (Talk) 19:50, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- Hi! I also apologize for answering late, having busy days myself. I also think neutrality is important, however, I believe the original article is already hostile towards the Jedi. So I probably will edit the article again in the near future, but I will trying to leave more to the reader. Bendeguz01 (talk) 17:56, 6 March 2023 (UTC)

RE: Retcon
Hi there, the current page is indeed in need of an overall cleanup, but the general idea is to list recontextualized facts that change how the prior work should be interpreted, such as Anakin being Darth Vader even though our interpretation from A New Hope alone would be that they are not the same individual. But this is not the case for, for example, Rey being a descendant of Obi-Wan since it was never established in the work itself in the first place. Hope this helps, Anıl Şerifoğlu (talk) 23:59, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
Jedi Order
Hi! I'm very happy to see someone so passionate about this!
However, I have to say nothing I have added is speculation or incorrect. Yes, Lucas wanted the Jedi to be heroes, but he also made the choice to make a trilogy where the Jedi failed. In that same vain, Lucasfilm is now telling the story of a "golden age" to show how the Jedi are supposed to have acted. Cavan Scott's comments in that interview are also not an author's viewpoint contradicting narrative; the high republic shows us jedi living as part of communities, the late republic jedi (comparatively) are locked away in their temples. Indeed, is this not the entire point of The Living Force?
As for non-attachment, Iskat Akaris stands as the ultimate example of the Order's failure in the late republic. She finds so little support her story includes her deciding to act as the perfect jedi by day to enjoy "the nights [as] her only taste of freedom." The Jedi Order, as seen in stories, is every openly compassionate in the High Republic. Comparatively, the late Republic has fallen too far into non-attachment. This is a delicate tight-rope to walk, but it is possible. Its not to say there are not compassionate Jedi in the late Republic, just that the actions of those who dive too far into the non-attachment rule damage the entire order. Editoronthewiki (talk) 12:45, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
- The non-attachment rule is often misunderstood by jedi to mean a lack of love, this is stated in Midnight Horizon. The problem with the late republic is that lack of love misunderstanding is too widespread. As for Iskat, the entire point of her story is that the jedi have fallen so far. Thats why she falls. Living Force also proves this: its not the jedi don't care, its that they are becoming isolated and need to be kicked into action by Qui-Gon. The Jedi are not perfect, which was Lucas's intention. If the prequels are the heyday of the Jedi, we would not need high republic, nor would lucas have made the movies he did. There can be "bad" Jedi in the High Republic, but the period is overall the high point
Yes, the Jedi have roots in Buddism. But the story of the Jedi takes that inspiration and goes in its own way. And even if Lucas intended for the Jedi to be perfect, which i have no doubt is not true given how he depicted them in prequels and TCW, it does not change the canon media (and legends for rhat matter) that points out the faults. Editoronthewiki (talk) 16:51, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
- In addition to the fact that Lucas's films and TV series do show the Jedi Order's failings, with the very fact that the Jedi fall and are shown to have lost public support in TCW season five proof of that, you seem to have misunderstood that "if George Lucas says it, its true." If a canonical story or source comes out that contradicts what Lucas thinks in his head, we side with the canonical story or source. Lucas recently claimed the only racism in star wars universe is against droids. That is not true, see Xenophobia and Speciesism. Even if it were true there was no major faults of the Jedi Order shown under Lucas content, that would not disregard the faults revealed via non-Lucas content.
