Hello AdmirableAckbar!
Hello and welcome to Wookieepedia!! About galleries, you have to create new page, where you put images about individuals in jabba's palace (and maybe text about them). It's easy. If you have any other problems, ask the administrators. I am not admin, but you can ask me too. DARTH SIDIOUS2 Discussion board 14:32, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
RE: How to make user sub page and how to upload pics
To make a sub page type "User:AdmirableAckbar/" followed by the name of the sub page into the search box at the side of the screen and hit go. When prompted click create to make the page. To upload pictures click the upload file link on the toolbox to the left, select the file you want to upload and make sure you fill in the {{information}} template in the summary. Also please check before uploading to make sure that it isn't a duplicate of an image we already have. Green Tentacle (Talk) 08:55, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
Welcome to Wookieepedia!
Welcome to one of the best star wars sites! I always feel good when someone welcome's me, so I do the same for people. I hope you have a great time here. I realized when reading your page that you and I have the same birthday. I've only met one person who shares my exact birthday. That is cool. I would love to see some of your comics. They sound very interesting. You sound like you have quite a future ahead of you. If you have any questions just ask me or our wonderful staff. I'm new but I do know quite a bit about Star Wars. Happy editing! Anzati02 23:10, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- You are very welcome! And the answer to your question: Yes. will you post the comics on your userpage?Anzati02 18:43, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
Comics
You said that you were going to get those comics. They don't sell them in stores any more. Is there an online store you buy at? I have been looking to get som comic dirt cheap. Ebay is the only place I can find them at a reasonable price. You might want to try there. Do you know of any other online stores? Anzati02 18:50, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
I'll look forward to it.Anzati02 18:55, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
Lucky! The book stores around here only carry the latest comics. But Amazon is a great place to get comics. Plus, if you spend over $25 you get free shipping. In the Republic series I have Volume 3, 4, 6, & 9. I really want to get 5, 7 & 8. Anzati02 19:03, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
Thanks! Anzati02 21:06, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
Ephant Mon
Hey AdmirableAckbar. With regards to Ephant Mon, I would love to help you out with sourcing and expanding it—but where I am based right now I only have a small number of my novels/TPBs/reference books with me, with the rest being back home. If I do come across anything (either from someone in the barracks, or at the local library) then I'll help out with the article any way I can. Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 21:17, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

Ephant Mon's Page
Nice job working on Ephant Mon! Once I get done sourcing the Jedi Order page, I'll come help you out with it. Now that it didn't pass the Inq., I'm shooting for a good article, where all I have to do now is source. Jediknight19bby 17:35, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- Now that I see what you've done with Mon, I don't see anything to help out with. Leave it in the hands of the Inq., and, hopefully, sometime in July 2008, everyone on Wookieepedia will see Mon's face on the main page for a week. Jediknight19bby 17:51, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for voting on my article. I suppose you're right about Ducato and Greyman. I'll be sourcing tommorow on the Jedi Order page, you can too, if you want. Jediknight19bby 22:03, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
Request
Speaking for a large piece of Wookieepedia, I would like to say that you, as a user, are what are truly considered 'outstanding'. Because of this, I would like to ask your permission to nominate you as August's Wookieepedian of the Month. Please reply to this by June 30th, I'll be turning in your nomination, if you accept it, July 1st.
- em...sure why not. i'm very flattered. you're welcome to nominate me if you wish, though i doubt i'll do all that well considering my short time here. AdmirableAckbar 22:57, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- Not to worry. If you need me to, I can help you with Yaddle. Jediknight19bby 00:35, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
- All Yaddle pics have been sourced. Jediknight19bby 18:36, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
- cheers. i appreciate all your help. AdmirableAckbar 18:37, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
WOTM
You're only allowed to vote for one user as WOTM, and I see you voted for three. I already crossed out the latest one, but since your first two were done at the same time, I wasn't sure which you would like to keep. So please choose just one, and strike out the other. Thanks. -- Ozzel 23:08, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
Bubo
Hey AdmirableAckbar, I just wanted to say good job on Bubo, and keep up the good work! For future GA & FA noms, don't be afraid to ask a user or two whom you trust (or an administrator), to take a look over the article before you nominate it. Doing this usually provides a faster route to getting those five votes once you do nominate it—especially since having a couple people proofread it, will take care of any future objections before hand :D. Anyways, keep up the good work, and I'm happy to see the effort that you're putting into articles such as Ephant Mon. :) Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 19:47, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
Re:Tsui Choi
No prob, I'll take a look over it and get back you. If you feel up to it, feel free to review Durrei. Greyman(Paratus) 20:46, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hey, I finished expanding and whatnot on Tsui Choi, I'll put it up for GA on your behalf and get the ball rolling. Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 22:43, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hey AdmirableAckbar, I just wanted to let you know that Tsui Choi got GA and that I promoted it yesterday. Feel free to place the GA userbox on your userpage ;-), Cheers. Greyman(Paratus) 15:52, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
Death Star II
I know you're busy and all, but I wanted you to look over the Death Star II page. I deciided to take another shot at bringing an article to featured status. It's fully referenced, so look over it if you have time, and vote. Jediknight19bby 00:30, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
Re:your opinion on some books/comics
I personally enjoyed them all—albiet, some better than others. Cloak was a novel in that it gives some good background to the the events which would come under the rise of Palpatine. Labyrinth was an excellent book—'nuff said. The Cestus Deception was good, I liked how it focuses a lot on the Clone Troopers and ARC. Dark R. was really good as well, Yoda was kinda comical in it. And Shatterpoint is one of my favorite SW novels—very dark. I hope that helps. Greyman(Paratus) 18:26, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, I've been in and out of the barracks all day. I'll take a look at it tonight after dinner, and let you know. Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 19:32, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
Vote
There's a vote over on the Jedi Order talk page and I suggest you come ASAP and voice your opinion. Thanks, Jediknight19bby 19:44, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
Re:Arcona
Hey AdmirableAckbar. I took a look over the Arcona article, and did some general cleanup and referencing. I think you picked a nice article to work on!:D
Anyways, I just have a couple of points about the article that I could see being a problem if you nominated it right now for GA: 1. I think that the intro should be expanded quite a bit, 2. With the amount of Appearances and Sources that are listed, the article could stand to be expanded quite a bit, and 3. There are two red links in the "See also" section that I think should be cleared up—that's more a personal preference rather than a requirement…the colour red in a GA or FA nom just screams OBJECT! OBJECT!.
Now, I realize that you said that you have only a few sources and books currently available to you right now, but I do have a few suggestions that you can try (and that works really really well for me): 1. try downloading what you need. Download the program BitLord, and then visit sites like IsoHunt and btjunkie. Once you're in those sites, just search for Star Wars d20 or something similar and you'll be presented with a list of torrents that you can download in BitLord. Also, check out this link → Hungry Ewok — from there, you can download any or all the SW novels that have been published. You can even find some RPG sourcebooks and some other things ;), 2. If all else fails, try your local library—I know that my local library, back home, has a good selection of SW novels and whatnot.
Also, when I first starting writing GA's and FA's, I found it extremely helpful having a "sample" article that I could work off of. For Arcona, I recommend using Bouncer as an article template. One last thing—you wrote on my talk page that you had not yet been able to get referencing down pat yet. So, if you have any concerns about what or when to reference, or even how, check out this link → Wookieepedia:Sourcing. Anyways, if you have any questions about any of this stuff, you know where you can reach me. Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 23:30, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hey again, was any of this stuff useful? Just curious to see if you ran into problems. Greyman(Paratus) 14:11, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
Referencing
Kudos on your diligent work on Ephant Mon. However, the way you are sourcing is not quite right. If you have a look at the notes and references section at the moment, a number of them don't have names etc beside them. When referencing, the first appearance of the reference goes <ref name="abbreviation">''Title of reference''</ref>. Subsequent references for the same source is <ref name="abbreviation" />. I hope that helps. Rather than correcting it myself, I thought it might be better to let you try. Cheers. --Eyrezer 04:07, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
New Droid
I'm going to create a droid, which is a user controlled by a live user to help out with one particular thing. Mine is already a user- TC-14, I call her. I wanted to know if you could become her co-owner. She's gonna be all about sourcing articles, quotes, etc., and might even help us by voting for our noms and stuff. I didn't want to do all the technical stuff, so I was wondering if, when you got back, you could do that part. The whole thing can be found at the page User: Sikon/Pywikipedia. Your requests
Per IRC:
Hey AdmirableAckbar, I looked over Chevin and Amani like you asked me to. I did some work on Yaddle a couple months ago, but haven't looked at it since...I'll try and do that tonight.
Chevin looks good, no obj's that I can remember.
Amani, if it's possible, needs to have the referenced material placed in the actual article, and then be referenced there. If it's not possible to do that, then that's cool :D. Also, although not a requirement, those redlinks should be cleared up. One last thing: The article appears too cluttered...maybe taking out a picture or two, and just keeping the best ones, would make it visually flow better. What do you think? Anything else, just let me know. Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 15:38, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

In the history section, the first sentence reads, "Before they made contact with other beings, the Arcona weren't very technologically advanced, and their eventual technology was other species'." ...I have absolutely no idea what that means. Why would I do that?
Why would I do that? I'm here to stop vandals, not join them! I am supposed to bring peace to Wookieepedia, not to corrupt it! I would never create a second account to nominate myself. I read his page and he said he's more of a researcher, nor much of an editor. Excelior 10:05, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- i'm not saying he is a sockpuppet, i'm saying that it is very likely. (1) New users usually do not nominate people for anything on their 3rd edit. (2) You are not a major contributer, and so the chances of him coming across you are slim. (3) most new users have no idea what rollback is. (4)it is unlikely that anyone would nominate you slim, seeing as you are not a major contributer. If I am wrong in my suspicions I will admit it, but there are ways to prove you that you are/are not guilty of sockpuppetry.20px TheOne&OnlyAdmirableAckbar (It's A Trap!) 14:12, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- also, could you please explain how you are a dedicate user. You have 34 edits, 59% of which have been on your userpage, and only 8% of which have been on an actual article. Clearly you are not yet a deicated wookieepedian, just one with a lust for power. 20px TheOne&OnlyAdmirableAckbar (It's A Trap!) 14:18, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Jedi Order
Hello there Ackbar. I'm currently in London for Celebration Europe and will be unable to check Wookieepedia for a few days. I'd appreciate it if you would inform me about any major changes to the Jedi Order article, this way I would not have to search the history after I get back. If you're to busy, I'll understand. Thank you. --Jedimca0 (Live from London) (Do or Do Not, There is No Try) 20:08, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

I checked a few of the links when I first signed up, I'm mainly interested in contributing pics, so once I found the inline way to insert I stopped reading. Typical noob. Anyways, thanks again. Sx3

I'm Back
Hello there Ackbar, I'm back, Celebration Europe was great. If you want I can send you a link as soon as I have uploaded the pictures. I've just checked the Jedi Order article and it looks great, better than great actually. Thank you for informing me of the changes you made, I really appreciate it. I managed to buy the New Essential Chronology at CE, so I'll finally be able to accurately source some things, but it looks like you already did that. I also checked the discussion on the GA nomination page and might be able to help out with some of the objections tomorrow. The article still needs a lot of work, but, I'm am not going to strike my vote because I feel this article has improved considerably during the past week. (while I was not here) and I am confident that together we can further improve this article and get GA approval.... It may take a while... but we will get there eventually. Again, thank you for informing me about the changes, it really helped me figure out what has changed. --Jedimca0(Do or Do Not, There is No Try) 20:20, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

The Great Jedi Order Adventure!
Hey Acky, as you requested of me in IRC, I took a look over the Jedi Order article and here is what I think needs to be done. Myself and some others think that it's GA nom is dead—everyone is to wary or fed up with...hmmm...certain...stuff...to look at it anymore. However, more than one person has said that unless an Inq approves this article, then it isn't going anywhere. I don't have the time to do it, but I 100% trust you and Jedimca0 to do an awesome job with it, and I've witnessed this in the last week or so, which only adds to my confidence in you guys. If you guys are able to do what I've listed below (and only after it's been all done), and even surpass that and do what you guys think needs to be done as well, then I have no problem proofreading it and giving it my stamp of approval—and I'm not just talking about it as an article, but as an FA nomination...eventually. It's a tall order, but it has come a long way since you've started cleaning it up, and I believe that you and Jedimca0 can do it. Also, by taking on a project of this...erm...reputation...it only continues to prove to everyone, including Admin's and Inqs, that you're serious about writing here—I already know you are, and so do others :D.
First off, I assume that you're planning on doing some, or a lot of, rewriting throughout the article, so I didn't go through it for grammar or diction just yet. Once you get whole sections out of the way and how you want them, then let me know and I'll go over it for you. I'll do my best to drag Goodwood and Graestan into that part as well, heh :D.
Here it is:
- "After the war, the rest of these dissidents—known as the Legions of Lettow—were defeated." (Source?)
- "It is generally accepted that Jedi Order was formally founded at the same time as the initial incarnation of the Galactic Republic circa 25,000 BBY. Many of the specifics are still shrouded in mystery, though." Needs to be rewritten or deleted.
- "In 10,000 BBY, the Jedi created what would later be called the Lost City of the Jedi on Yavin 4. They used the City to terraform Yavin 4 into a rain forest world. Within the next 3,000 years, the Jedi abandoned Yavin 4." (Source?)
- "In 7,000 BBY the Jedi suffered the Second Great Schism, resulting in the Hundred-Year Darkness. This conflict ended with the Battle of Corbos 6,900 BBY. The surviving Dark Jedi fled to Ziost and founded the Sith Empire." (Source?)
- "The Jedi, believing that they had dealt with their dark-sided brethren, turned inward, and over the next twenty centuries they forgot about their exiled members." (Source? Twenty centuries??)
- "The paranoia created by this conflict led to the Jedi and Republic's attempted genocide of the Sith and Stenness Shifters." (Source?)
- "With the Ruusan Reformation, both the Jedi and the Republic renounced militarism, disbanding their vast armies and navies. From that point on, the Galaxy would rely on smaller Judicial forces to help the Jedi keep the peace. The Jedi were determined that the Sith would not be reborn. Mindful of their own history, the Jedi set about enforcing strict guidelines that the Council hoped would avoid repeating the mistakes of the past. They would renounce all ties to the outside world—to wealth, material possessions and even family. Training would now be undertaken on a strict one-to-one basis and centralized on Coruscant. With the far-flung academies of the past, the temptation of delving into forbidden knowledge was just too great for members of the order." (Source?)
- Bullets should be rmvd from the Jedi Ranks section, however that's just a personal preference, but one I know a lot of other users agree with.
- Quotes! Quotes, quotes, quotes, and more quotes! :D I believe that with each subsection in the article, a quote should be present as a lead-in.
- Locations section needs to be expanded upon—Coruscant (Jedi Temple, Room of a Thousand Fountains, etc.) could have it's own paragraph. My advice here is to look at this → Locations of the Jedi Order, pick what you believe are the top five most important Jedi locations, and write paragraphs on them—make the current Locations section a little more meaty.
- Any headings that have links in them should be de-linked, and then linked in actual paragraphs.
- The Introduction could stand to be longer, especially with the amount of information that already is, and will be, in the article. All it has to be is "This happened here in this year, it resulted in this. Master blah then did this then, it was important b/c of this. However, a this war then broke out, last until then, and the Jedi did this." and so on and so forth.
- POV (ex. semi-legendary organizations)
- The New Sith Wars subsection needs to be put into more cohesive paragraphs—to many short paragraphs, which could easily be combined.
- I haven't look very closely, but from just scanning over it, the sections which were copy/pasted from the History of the Jedi Order need to be rewritten (or slightly tweaked) so that they can stand on their own. I was going to recommend merging the two articles, but that is unlikely, since the History of the Jedi Order covers the entire Order, not just the Pre-Vader Order.
- I would also recommend making (attempting) a complete list of Appearances and Sources. You can look here, here, or even here. (Pssst, I recommend the last one :) )
- And what you've already mentioned—Expansion!:D (ie. Freedon Nadd's reign, The Third Great Schism, The Great Hyperspace War [Needs to be expanded to give background], The Great Sith War [Huge, and I would say pivotal, event in Jedi history...expand please, likewise the Clone Wars needs some too, the Great Jedi Purge was a major event which witnessed a lot more then what is currently presented.
- And once those sections have been expanded, that creates a lot more room for pictures! And, I'll let you in on something, Inq Eyrezer loooves quality pictures. :P
- The See also section, I think, should be cut down a bit...only relevant ones should stay. If I were writing the article, then I would keep Jedi, The Force, Jedi Code (though, this should be covered in the article already), and the New Jedi Order.
Anyways, from what I can see, those are the most glaring and potent points that I have to offer. As you guys continue with editing/expanding, let me know along the way, and I'll continue to proofread it for you. If you or Jedimca0 have any questions about any of this, or anything else, you know where you can reach me. Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 01:17, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
- That sounds like a good idea.... I was thinking the same thing.... I've also been working on creating a sub page. we could copy greyman’s message and just strike the things that we've already finished, this way we would keep the list at one central place and it would be easier for other people that want to help out (if there are any) to “join” us. The sub page is almost finished and I'll create it if you don't object. --Jedimca0(Do or Do Not, There is No Try) 11:31, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
- The sub page has been created, its User:Jedimca0/Jedi Order(I needed a good title, so I made it a User Sub page because I knew that would not be deleted). I've already put your name under "volunteers" and I've also added a "Discussion/Comments" section where we (and possibly others) can discuss the changes. I hope you like it.
the (needs checking) after striking the suggestion sounds good, this way we can check each others work and prevent mistakes, good idea. --Jedimca0(Do or Do Not, There is No Try) 11:54, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

- Hey Acky, I just have one other suggestion: Don't worry about trying to get the article up to par over the next week or said other short period of time. Take your time with it, have fun with it, and enjoy writing it. You don't want to get bored with this article, or dread it every time you go to work on it. Ataru, myself, and others have been working on Mrs. Skywalker for about a month now, and we plan to have it an FA by the end of the summer. So ya, just have fun with it and take your time, and let me know along the way and I'll do my best to guide you guys with any concerns or questions. Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 14:38, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
- Hello Ackbar, I found a bit of time and already worked on a few of the things Greyman pointed out. Just check the sub page to see which ones. I think it would be a good idea to use the "comments" section on that sub page to let each other know what we're going to work on, just to make sure we're not working on the same section and end up doing things twice. --Jedimca0(Do or Do Not, There is No Try) 18:35, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

I said I 'helped'. I added the entire pre-Cerea part, and supported it on the nom page. I also asked that QG's objection be struck, which made it an FA. I will remove it, though. Jediknight19bby (Jedi High Council Chambers!) 18:44, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
- JK19bby, asking a user to strike their objection does not mean that you're responsible for promoting an article to FA. Helping promote an FA means that you helped by writing a large portion of it. Greyman(Paratus) 18:49, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
Tales
Check on the inside of your book where all the publishing info is and also on the Wiki page for Tales From Jabbas palace it says January 1996 my coppy also says 1995 on the back but it is a typo —Unsigned comment by Dark Lord Xander (talk • contribs)
- That's probably not a typo, it probably means that it was first published in 1995.... perhaps late December? --Jedimca0(Do or Do Not, There is No Try) 09:13, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
No i checked and double checked on a verity of sites including the cargo bay and it said that it was released on 02 of january 1996Dark Lord Xander 09:18, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Skrilling
Are you done with the Skrilling article? It still has the "inuse" tag on it. Cheers, —Silly Dan (talk) 21:20, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
GA Proposal
Hey, just an FYI, but I've asked Greyman a question about an idea I've had for the GA's for a while, and your input would be more than welcome. --School of Thrawn 101 10:11, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- The more the merrier, imo. Eyrezer and Xwing are both fantastic examples of dedicated Wookieepedians. I think that Ataru would also be a great addition to this project, provided he's not already pulled too much with all of the FA stuff on which he's working. I think that if we approach this open-minded and really hash out the details, we'll really move forward as far as quality with the GA process. --School of Thrawn 101 04:58, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

"Ki-Adi-Mundi's Starfighter" article.
Wow. I can't believe we both tagged the article for deletion at practically the same time. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 21:01, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Jedi Master
Hey, Acky. I know you're busy with Elom and your other projects, but I wanted to know that, since I consider you to have a pretty good collection of sources having to deal with Jedi, I was wondering if you could help a little more with my latest project. I began to source it, but it's not completed yet, the overview is not referenced. I'm doing it mainly, but just so you know. Plus, I'm making a WookieeProject on articles dealing with Jabba's Palace, and I know you brought Mon and Bubo to FA and GA, respectively, so you might be interested in checking it out. I have the Jedi Master page under control, but feel free to help out if it doesn't become ID. I can help with some of your projects, since you did such a good job cleaning up the Jedi Order. Anyway, get back to me. Jediknight19bby (Jedi High Council Chambers!) 18:14, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks

Elom
Sorry, I've been busy lately, so I didn't manage to even read your article. It's an FA without my input, at least....
Have you considered working on the Elomin article as a companion, though? 8) —Silly Dan (talk) 02:54, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
