The Upper Strangled Cliffs was the uppermost section of a group of cliffs on the planet Dathomir, directly above the Strangled Cliffs. The hydraatis plant grew in the area.[1] Years before the destruction of the Nightsisters in 20 BBY,[2] the Nightsister clan of witches visited a small area where they practiced their magicks.[1] In 20 BBY,[2] after the Battle of Dathomir, the surviving Nightsister Merrin visited the Upper Strangled Cliffs where she mourned the loss of her sisters.[1] After the destruction of their prior village during the Second Battle of Dathomir[3] in 19 BBY,[4] the surviving Nightbrothers built a village within the Upper Strangled Cliffs. In 14 BBY,[5] when Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis briefly passed through the cliffs to get to the Brother's Bastion on a journey to reach the Tomb of Kujet.[1]
