"Tatooine natives allege that a now-extinct species of the krayt had wings, although neither holographic evidence nor residual remains have substantiated this claim."
―From the journal of Ardis San Tekka[1]

According to the natives of the desert planet Tatooine, a non-sentient species of krayt dragon with wings once existed on the world. Galactic Society of Creature Enthusiasts Director of Creature Cartography Ardis San Tekka mentioned the alleged species when writing about krayt dragons in her journal[1] at some point after the Battle of Exegol in 35 ABY.[2] By the time of her writing, the species was supposedly extinct, although San Tekka knew of no holographic evidence or residual remains to prove that it had ever existed at all.[1]

Behind the scenes

The winged krayt dragon species was mentioned in the 2024 reference book Star Wars Bestiary, Vol. 1: Creatures of the Galaxy, which was written by S.T. Bende.[1]
