- "I picked one [of several hubs] with nothing but my gut and booked a room in one of the tourist multiplexes."
- ―Marda Ro, in her journal
A tourist multiplex was one of several that were located in a hub near the equatorial forests of[1] the Outer Rim Territories[2] planet Ryloth.[1] At some point no earlier than 379 BBY,[3] Marda Ro—the Evereni[1] founder of a group of pirates who would eventually become the Nihil[4]—visited the hub during[1] her[5] hunt for others of her species. While staying at the hub, Ro booked a room at the tourist multiplex. Ro later mentioned the multiplex in a message she recorded for her descendants.[1] By 252 BBY,[6] during his youth, Ro's great-great-grandson Marchion Ro had listened to her journal, including the message where the multiplex was mentioned.[5]
Behind the scenes
The tourist multiplex was mentioned in the short story "A Closed Fist Has No Claws," written by Tessa Gratton and published in the 2023 young-adult anthology The High Republic: Tales of Light and Life as a part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project.[1]

- ↑ The segment of "A Closed Fist Has No Claws" depicting a Jedi's death onboard the Gaze Electric takes place around 379 BBY per the reasoning here. Marda Ro met "Isren" after the Jedi's death; therefore, she must have met him no earlier than 379 BBY.

As The High Republic: Temptation of the Force establishes she introduced Marchion Ro to Marda Ro's journal, he must have listened to it by that year.
