This species was a sentient species that existed in the galaxy.[1]
Biology and appearance
This bipedal near-human sentient species[1] was distinguished by scale-like patterns on their faces, including a v-shaped split on their foreheads.[2]
Species in the galaxy
A member of this species ambushes Din Djarin
By 9 ABY,[4] at least two members of this species, one male and one female,[2] could be found among the bounty hunters on the planet Nevarro,[1] both taking part in the ambush of the Mandalorian Din Djarin during the hunt for Grogu.[3]
Behind the scenes
The species made their debut in the first episode of the 2019 television series Star Wars: The Mandalorian, directed by Dave Filoni.[1] They were designed by makeup artist Brian Sipe, who unofficially nicknamed the male instance of the species "L'Amina Cutis" on set. The facial effects were initially created using generic scale texture prosthetic transfers from Legacy Effects, alongside "Got Flesh" raised scar prosthetics.[2]
Once these prosthetics were applied, a skin tone color was used to tie it all together, and finally, "Illustrator DT Blush" was dry brushed over all of the scars and scales. Though Sipe performed the initial makeup test of the species, he could not recall who applied the various prosthetics during the actual shoots.[2]

Brian Sipe (profile) on Facebook (post on June 28, 2020): "The bounty hunter, L'Amina Cutis was created by using some generic scale texture prosthetic transfers from Legacy Effects, and some raised scar "Got Flesh" prosthetics. I did the initial makeup test, but he artist that applied during the shoot escapes my memory. Please remind me and tag yourself when you see this. We also did a female version of the bounty hunter species. #starwars #mandalorian #themandalorian #clancybrown @hookuptattoos @samanthawardmakeup @carltoncoleman_makeupfx @chewmakdatchosef @mikeornelaz @ohsabrinacastro @hairdepartmentetc @legacyeffects" (backup link)
