"No… I had everything planned out! It was foolproof!"
―The rogue scientist[2]

A scientist was assigned to conduct research in Lord Grathan's estate on the planet Dromund Kaas during the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire.[2] In 3643 BBY,[1] the scientist went rogue and poisoned fellow researchers and stole Sith research with the intent of selling it to the Galactic Republic. The operation was discovered when Imperial authorities detected unauthorized communication activity transmitting from the estate to Republic space. An Imperial officer subsequently ordered that Grathan's research be secured.[2]

Behind the scenes

The rogue scientist first appeared in the dynamic encounter mission "Power Stolen,"[2] introduced in Game Update 7.7: Dynamic Worlds, released on May 28, 2025, as part of Star Wars: The Old Republic: Legacy of the Sith,[3] the eighth digital expansion to the massively multiplayer online role-playing game Star Wars: The Old Republic.[4]

Notes and references

  1. 1.0 1.1 Per Forum:CT:Dating future SWTOR story and Dynamic Encounters, Wookieepedia treats Dynamic Encounters on the various planets in Star Wars: The Old Republic as occurring in the in-universe year that the respective planet's main events take place in, unless details of the encounter conflict with that date. Therefore, the events of Dynamic Encounter: "Power Stolen", which takes place on Dromund Kaas, take place in 3643 BBY per the reasoning here.
