- "Six years before the Battle of Yavin, the local planetary governor was killed by what Imperial officials described as "a rebel terrorist and traitor sponsored by the local community", though they presented no evidence to back up this assertion."
- ―Beaumont Kin, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire
An individual served as the planetary governor of the planet Dinwa Prime for the Galactic Empire during the Imperial Era. They were killed in 6 BBY, with Imperial officials claiming without evidence that the planetary governor's death was a result of "a rebel terrorist and traitor sponsored by the local community." A directive was made to use Dinwa Prime as a firing-range as punishment. Imperial Navy ships that passed along the Hydian Way hyperspace route often stopped at Dinwa Prime to test and synchronize their weapons or allow TIE pilots to practice bombing runs, which resulted in the planet being left in ruins over time.[1] In 35 ABY,[2] the historian Beaumont Kin mentioned the planetary governor in[1] his[3] book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire.[1]
Behind the scenes
The planetary governor was mentioned in the 2024 reference book Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, by Dr. Chris Kempshall.[1]

- ↑ Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire states that thirty years have passed since the end of the Galactic Civil War and months have passed since the Battle of Exegol. As Star Wars: Timelines dates the end of the war to 5 ABY and the Battle of Exegol to 35 ABY, the in-universe The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire must have been published in 35 ABY.
