"In fact, when ‘Emperor’ Palpatine decided to arrest me for treason, one of his lapdog Senators informed Bail beforehand. Bail, while pretending to gloat with the swine, sent one of his men to warn me. I got off-planet about two minutes ahead of the ISB agents."
―Mon Mothma[1]

A male was associated with Senator Bail Organa of the planet Alderaan.[1] In approximately 2 BBY,[2] Emperor Palpatine decided to arrest Senator Mon Mothma of Chandrila for treason,[1] which carried a death sentence,[3] for her clandestine efforts to develop a rebellion against the Galactic Empire.[4] Organa learned of the arrest through a loyalist senator, and while pretending to gloat, he sent the man to warn Mothma.[1] A bodyguard spirited the Chandrilan to safety,[4] and Mothma was able to escape[1] the galactic capital Coruscant[5] mere minutes before agents of the Imperial Security Bureau arrived to arrest her.[1]

Behind the scenes

Bail Organa's man was mentioned in The Rebel Alliance Sourcebook written by Paul Murphy and published for use with West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game in 1990.[1] In the current Star Wars canon, as portrayed in "Welcome to the Rebellion,"[6] the ninth episode of the second season of the Disney+ series Andor—which debuted on on May 6, 2025[7]Bail Organa sent a team of three: Beska, Charval, and Selko, to help Mon Mothma escape from the Senate following a speech denouncing the Empire for the Ghorman Massacre. However, Mothma was accurately warned beforehand by her ally Luthen Rael that Organa's team could not be trusted, as Beska was an Imperial Security Bureau spy.[6]
