The Galactic Empire operated a fuel depot at the location Beroq 4 during the Imperial Era.[1] By 4 ABY,[2] during the Alliance to Restore the Republic's war against the Empire, the rebel pilot Lieutenant Shara Bey participated in liberating[1] the world[3] Gorma. As part of Operation: Mynock Bite, which occurred within a week of the Gorma liberation, Bey carried out a raid at the Beroq 4 fuel depot and earned her triple ace status.[1]
Long after Bey's passing[1] in 10 ABY,[4] her son Poe Dameron began flying for the New Republic[1] in 30 ABY.[5] During his New Republic service, Dameron learned of his mother's heroic acts while she flew for the Alliance, including her particpation in the raid at the fuel depot.[1] In 31 ABY,[6] while Dameron carried out a patrol in[1] the Outer Rim's[7] Mirrin sector, he mentally reflected on his life and recalled learning about his mother's raid at the fuel depot.[1]
Behind the scenes
The fuel depot was mentioned in Before the Awakening, a junior anthology book written by Greg Rucka that was released in 2015[1] as a companion work to the Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens[8] publishing program.[9]
