- "A rebel ship? All by itself out here? How interesting. Scramble a fighter wing. If they can push the ship into tractor beam range, we'll put it aboard and interrogate the pilot. And if not…we'll watch a rebel burn."
- ―Firmus Piett
A fighter wing of the Galactic Empire was stationed aboard the Super Star Destroyer Executor.[1] In 3 ABY,[2] the fighter wing was deployed by Admiral Firmus Piett to engage a rebel X-wing starfighter piloted by Luke Skywalker that had exited from hyperspace in the Jekara system. Piett hoped the wing would draw the fighter into range of the tractor beam of the Executor so they could interrogate the pilot. After the wing was deployed, Skywalker led them over a War Cruiser of the Son-tuul Pride criminal syndicate, the Dark Syndicate, in the hope that they would take the opportunity to fight the Empire. The plan worked, and the Son-tuul Pride deployed its own ships to fight the fighter wing as Skywalker made his way down to Jekara.[1]
