The Dark Syndicate was a War Cruiser utilized by the Son-tuul Pride criminal syndicate during the Imperial Era. The cruiser, commanded by a member of the syndicate, was present above the planet Jekara during Crimson Dawn's auction of the carbonite-frozen smuggler Han Solo. The rebel pilot Luke Skywalker flew his X-wing starfighter over the Dark Syndicate after he was pursued by Galactic Empire TIE fighters from the nearby Super Star Destroyer Executor, hoping that the Imperials would mistakenly fire upon the Son-tuul Pride cruiser and provoke them. Skywalker's tactic was successful; after the Dark Syndicate was hit by Imperial fire, its commander retaliated, and Skywalker was able to escape the TIEs. However, the Executor subsequently opened fire on the Dark Syndicate, destroying the cruiser.[1]
