A beat-up fighter was owned by the San Tekka clan member Cair San Tekka during the High Republic Era. The fighter had at least one engine and a hyperdrive.[1] By 228 BBY,[2] the fighter was kept by San Tekka on a dead moon in the Nihil pirates' Occlusion Zone region of space.[1]
That year,[2] San Tekka traveled to the moon in his shuttle, the Brightbird, which he left on the moon, and departed in his fighter. The ship had enough power to allow San Tekka to pilot to[1] the Mid Rim's[3] Chommell sector and also transmit codes to prevent himself from being attacked by Nihil scav droids. San Tekka then made his way to a colony on Jafan[1]—a planet in the sector[3]—which he left in a hauler. After eventually arriving on the planet Naboo in the Chommell sector, San Tekka mentally recalled his use of the fighter.[1]
Behind the scenes
The fighter was mentioned in the 2024 novel The High Republic: Temptation of the Force, written by Tessa Gratton and published as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase III.[4]

The implementation of the Guardian Protocols, which Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia places in 229 BBY, took place one week after Starlight Beacon's fall according to The High Republic – Shadows of Starlight 1. As The High Republic: Temptation of the Force takes place one year and six weeks after the destruction of Starlight Beacon and its events span a few months, it must be set in 228 BBY.
