- "Sergia was one of the many desert planets I stopped on durin' my trip across the Inner Rim. I wasn't plannin' to do much there other than refuel, but I got sidetracked when I saw another food freighter docked at the depot servin' vittles to the local residents. The chef said he was born and raised on Sergia and was whippin' up his specialty—a pasta-like dish that incorporated the tails of sand mynocks in a rich, creamy cheese sauce made from the milk of native plain hundas."
- ―Strono Tuggs, The Ultimate Cookbook
A chef was born and raised on the Inner Rim desert planet Sergia and worked selling vittles out of a food freighter on the world, with Sand Mynock 'n' Cheese as his specialty. The chef was serving food from his freighter at a depot on Sergia when he encountered the Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs, who was refueling at the depot during a culinary tour of the galaxy that he took[1] between 34 ABY and 35 ABY.[2]
The Sergia native spoke to Tuggs about his life, and the Artiodac traded him a batch of Corellia Chews for the recipe to Sand Mynock 'n' Cheese. Tuggs then included a modified version of the recipe and mentioned the chef who had traded him the recipe in his third cookbook, The Ultimate Cookbook,[1] which was published in 35 ABY.[2]
Behind the scenes
The chef was mentioned in the 2023 Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook, a recipe book written by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak.[1]

- ↑ 2.0 2.1 Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook establishes that the publishing of the in-universe The Ultimate Cookbook and the culinary tour that preceded it occurred following the publishing of The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook and prior to the destruction of Kijimi. It also establishes that The Ultimate Cookbook was published following the Festival of the Ancestors that occurred during that time period. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook further establishes that The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook was published concurrently with the First Order's search for the Resistance base on Batuu, which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 34 ABY. In addition, Timelines dates the Festival of the Ancestors and the destruction of Kijimi to 35 ABY, meaning the tour must have taken place between 34 ABY and 35 ABY and The Ultimate Cookbook must have been published in 35 ABY.
