A type of blaster pistol was owned by[1] Clone Commander[2] Scorch, a clone commando[1] in service to the Galactic Empire's Advanced Science Division.[2] The blaster was largely black in color, while the top of the gun barrel and a line across each weapon's side was silver. Between that silver barrel portion and the rest of the pistol was also a blue coloration, with a red line present on each side above where a soldier's hand held the blaster pistol. The back of the pistol also featured a green line.[1]
Behind the scenes
The blaster pistol was included as an accessory for Scorch's Sixth Scale Figure produced by Sideshow Collectibles, which set the release date for Scorch's figure to somewhere between August and December 2024.[1] The pistol has its origins in Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was identified as the DC-15s side arm blaster.[3] In Legends, it was first mentioned on the official LucasArts page for[4] the 2005[5] video game Star Wars: Republic Commando.[4] The blaster pistol then made its first appearance within that game[5] and was identified by its full name in the Republic Commando Official Prima Guide, which was written by Michael Knight[3] and published on March 8, 2005.[6] An unrelated blaster pistol known as the DC-15s sidearm was featured within the 2011 online game Star Wars: The Old Republic.[7]
In the canon continuity, a weapon known as the "DC-15S sidearm" was referenced within the 2016 magazine Star Wars Helmet Collection 13. However, the magazine does not clarify if it is a canonization of[8] the Old Republic weapon,[7] the Republic Commando weapon,[5] or a reference to the DC-15A blaster carbine, which is also known as the "DC-15S blaster."[9] As such, this article remains at an unidentified page name. On the Sideshow store page, several images of Scorch's figure on display while wielding his blaster pistol are featured. Among those photos are pictures of Scorch wielding the pistol in the interior of installations and on[1] the planet Wayland[10] in the Outer Rim Territories,[11] where Scorch was based in the Mount Tantiss installation as a member of the Advanced Science Division.[2]
