"We are more than you. And there is no more help coming for you. The Mother made sure of that. They will call this the Great Night of the Jedi's Defeat."
―The bearded Path member to Aida Forte, on what would be called the Night of Sorrow[1]

A bearded male was a member of the Path of the Open Hand cult and its sub-group the Path of the Closed Fist.[1] In 382 BBY,[2] during the Night of Sorrow, at the Path compound on the planet Dalna knocked down Jedi Knight Aida Forte and swung at her with a metal lance. However, Jedi Master Creighton Sun hit the lance with his lightsaber and sent it flying away. However, the bearded man stil pursued Forte and Sun was occupied by fighting two other Path members and became too far away. The man told Forte that the Path would win because there were more of them and that the Path's leader, The Mother, had made sure no more help was coming for them. He added that he hoped that night would be remembered as the night of the Jedi's defeat before shooting at her with a blaster, Forte deflecting the shots with her lightsaber. Eventually the man knocked Forte down by stabbing her in the leg and prepared to strike her with a killing blow. However Jedi Master Yaddle arrived and used The Force to send him flying far away before he could kill Forte.[1]
