«The FateSpinner is about to pass in front of us, when it does, we're going to show Jixtus what a Kilji war cruiser can do.»
«Which weapons do you wish us to use?»
«All of them, at point blank range, as accurately as you can.»
«I obey.»

A Kilji vassal served aboard the Kilji Illumine nation's war cruiser Whetstone as its weapons operator under the command of the Illumine's ruler, Generalirius Nakirre,[1] in 18 BBY.[2] After the Whetstone arrived in the Unknown Regions' "Sunrise" system, the generalirius was murdered by his former Grysk ally, "Jixtus," prompting Nakirre's vassals to go catatonic and mourn their late master. A vassal then informed Pathfinder navigator Qilori that the warship's vassals could not think or make any move without their leader, for the religious beliefs they followed prevented them from doing so.[1]

Qilori then promised to lead the Kiljis until he could return them to their home and commanded the weapons operator to remove the Whetstone's peace-sealing, which covered its weaponry. After he removed the sealing, the vassal fired the war cruiser's weapons at Jixtus's flagship, the FateSpinner, under the Pathfinder's directive. The attack decimated the FateSpinner's starboard aft flank, inducing its Grysk commander to destroy his vessel and kill himself.[1]

Behind the scenes

The vassal appeared in the 2021 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Lesser Evil, the final volume in the Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy written by Timothy Zahn.[1]
