- "I met a Kel Dor a while back who told me he owned an orchard outside of Dor'shan. He promised that he'd hook me up with an assortment of goods from his most recent harvest if I ever came to visit. Not sure he expected me to take him up on the offer, 'cause the look on his face when I stepped out of my food freighter with a rebreather danglin' from my mouth was priceless."
- ―Strono Tuggs, The Ultimate Cookbook
A Kel Dor owned an orchard outside of Dor'shan on Dorin, the Expansion Region[1] homeworld of the Kel Dor species.[2] He at one point encountered the Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs and promised to provide him with goods from his orchard should the chef ever visit. When Tuggs did visit the orchard in his food freighter during a culinary tour of the galaxy that he took[1] between 34 ABY and 35 ABY,[3] the Kel Dor was surprised to see him in Dorin's helium-rich atmosphere but kept his promise and provided Tuggs with goods including zand nuts and fruit from his kand trees. The chef used the ingredients to make Kand and Zand Rolls and mentioned the orchard owner in the recipe for the dish in his third cookbook, The Ultimate Cookbook, which was published[1] in 35 ABY.[3]
Behind the scenes
The Kel Dor orchard owner was mentioned in the 2023 Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook, a recipe book written by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak.[1]

- ↑ 3.0 3.1 Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook establishes that the publishing of the in-universe The Ultimate Cookbook and the culinary tour that preceded it occurred following the publishing of The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook and prior to the destruction of Kijimi. It also establishes that The Ultimate Cookbook was published following the Festival of the Ancestors that occurred during that time period. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook further establishes that The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook was published concurrently with the First Order's search for the Resistance base on Batuu, which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 34 ABY. In addition, Timelines dates the Festival of the Ancestors and the destruction of Kijimi to 35 ABY, meaning the tour must have taken place between 34 ABY and 35 ABY and The Ultimate Cookbook must have been published in 35 ABY.
