- "Lord Vader is down there. Alone."
- ―The captain, to General Gollin
An individual served as an Imperial Navy captain aboard General Gollin's Imperial-class Star Destroyer during the Imperial Era.[1] In 1 BBY,[2] Gollin and the captain arrived within the atmosphere of the astronomical object Heva[1] in the Outer Rim's[3] Sevetta sector[4] as Galactic Emperor Palpatine's enforcer,[5] Darth Vader, was being hunted down by the cyborg Beilert Valance and his crew of bounty hunters.[1]
During the hunt, the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Formidable along with its contingent of TIE starfighters were destroyed by bot-drones, leaving Lord Vader stranded on Heva's surface. The captain reported to General Gollin on the situation as they arrived, informing Gollin that Vader was on the surface alone and that he was ambushed. Attempting to remedy the situation, the captain stated that they could launch their Star Destroyer's complement of TIE starfighters in fifteen minutes, which would not be enough time. Gollin agreed, but confidently stated that Vader would have killed the bounty hunters before the Imperial Starfighter Pilots readied into their flight suits. Indeed, Vader soon after defeated Valance and the group.[1]
The captain was a human with light skin, black hair, and brown eyes. As an officer of the Galactic Empire, the captain wore the Imperial officer's uniform which included an Imperial kepi, a utility belt, and the tunic. Denoting their military rank was a double-row style rank insignia plaque of three red tiles above three blue tiles, along with a single code cylinder on their left tunic chest pocket.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Imperial captain debuted in Target Vader 4, a comic[1] released on October 9, 2019.[6] The issue was written by Robbie Thompson and pencilled by Stefano Landini.[1]
